My partner and I stayed at Oceanfront Cottages in Feb./09, we had never been there before, and found it on the internet. I have to say the room we stayed in was exactly like the photo's on the owners website, (I'm always leary about whether the pics are a true representation of the place)....and the view was just as we'd been told, ie. you can see the ocean from your bed!
Everything you need for a lovely relaxing stay is provided for you, nice t.v., dvd player, great little kitchen, beautiful tiled bathroom, mexican tile throughout, and VERY comfortable bed.
There are no maid services on a daily basis, you take care of yourself, but there's a washer and dryer on the main floor behind some doors by the pool area, and lots of fresh towels there for you to help yourself.
It feels like you're coming home to your own private apartment every day! There's a road in front of the cottages with public parking, but we didn't find that a bother in February, it gets a lttle busier I'm told in the summer months. The beach is right there in front of your cottage, and there's miles and miles of it, so you won't have trouble finding a spot!
There are lots of other beaches nearby too, we went to a beautiful spot one day, and there was practically no one there! It was called Sebastian Inlet.....sand dunes, stretches of white sand and only about two or three other couples on the whole beach! Just the way I like it!:)
While we were there the weather was very nice, the first couple of days it was nice but a cool wind off the Atlantic, I had to get a sweatshirt on to read on the beach! But then it gradually warmed up, and the last day we were there which was Feb. 13th I heard they broke a record with a high of 87 degrees!
We stayed in the Cayman Suite, and it has a balcony overlooking the ocean, with a hot tub.....very nice! Except when I got a burn on my legs (probably windburn!) and I just couldn't stand the heat of the hot tub, which was a disappointment, but I enjoyed it at least for the first couple of days! We had our breakfast overlooking the ocean, and watched the seagulls dancing around, not to mention the windsurfers, and one day a man with some kind of mechanical flight machine, which was very cool to watch. He had a big fan-like motor strapped to his back and a kite contraption....I wish I'd got a photo of that but I didn't have my camera that day!
There is also a lovely little pool where we sat one day reading but it wasn't warm enough for me to go in, that was the first couple of days, but I'd expect in summer it would be a great place to relax.
There was mention when we read our reviews, right here on TripAdvisor, of condo's on either side of the cottages, but fear not, they are only three story, and you don't even know they are there, the cottages are set back a bit and with the palm trees around it's very private, and quiet.
We really enjoyed our stay, and would go back any time.....oh, I didn't mention the town....Indialantic and Melbourne (which is nearby and much bigger) was nice to go shopping and the restaurants are all pretty good. We had two great meals at the local restaurant "Island Fish Grill" (fish with an attitude is their slogan!).....get the caramelized onion encrusted grouper....WOW!! Fabulous! We got it both times, 'cos we enjoyed it so much! Staff very friendly.
You will not regret going to Oceanfront Cottages.....the owner we met while there is also very nice and low key, but friendly and approachable. We can't wait for our next visit:)
