“Excellent food, fun, and fellowship”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Visited Sams twice in late January. Food was excellent at a very reasonable price. View of the gulf waters was spectacular. Seeing the dolphins playing in the water was fantastic. Music was very good. Be sure to try the fried pickles. Can't wait to go back.

“Nothing great but decent food and service.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Decent food and decent service. I would have eaten here many additional times over the years but the loud music made me make a U- turn. Im not much for loud annoying noise that some consider music while eating a meal and having a conversation with friends, Warning: the deck on the water is smoking . My daughter from California was in shock and couldnt believe there are still people that sit and chain smoke while eating. We had to move inside the air was so bad evennthough outside. I think the management here got stuck in the 60s. The prices are fair for what you get and the food is decent but nothing that exceptional. I will go back from time toi time but have learned the right times to go which is a shame for such a nice location..

“Scenic restaurant on the water”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Food was good, service was so so. Loud music. Beautiful scene of the bay. Don't know if I would go back. I ordered the Grilled Swaii fish and it was a little salty, the grilled vegetables were too oily.

“Put yourself in vacation mode at Sam's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

This was my third visit to Sam's Beach Bar. The atmosphere is perfect for putting us in a beach like frame of mind when visiting the retirement village in Spring Hill. Situated right on the gulf, Sam's has patio and indoor seating for cooler times of the year. They serve fun appetizers like fried green tomatoes and the catch of the day is terrific! I had the grouper and what a treat. Good for all ages and something on the menu for everyone. Fried shrimp looked really good.

“Fresh Food, Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Need a day by the water and a great meal to boot? Here you go. Good deck for overlooking the Gulf on a warm sunny day is just the ticket as the dolphins played nearby. I'm not a big meat eater but the "fresh patties made daily" on the burger menu prompted a try of the Paradise Burger. Good choice. It tasted as fresh as the bun it was served on. Homemade fries were perfect. My friend had the Fish Tacos (3) and really enjoyed them. The price is fair here. Plenty of indoor seating on a cool day.
