“Girls weekend away.”

A place to come home to. That's how we feel everytime we girls get away to our own Mermaid room view of the gulf, palm trees, hammocks, tiki huts, Clean clean rooms!! and wonderful owners on location to make sure your enjoying your stay and they remember you if you miss a year. My friends and I live an hour north on the water also but something about this sleepy little stretch of coast that is more tropical and not as commercialized.

Room Tip: All you need to bring is a swim suit and yourself. All rooms have there own unique style depending o...

I booked the Palm Penthouse for Thanksgiving weekend and my family all came down for turkey dinner with all the fixings and all we needed to bring was the food. The kitchen in this suite was great. Had all the pots and pans we needed to cook all the holiday favorites. The breezes flow through the place every day so no air conditioning was needed. And the view...WOW...it is spectacular. So close that you not only see the Gulf but hear it too. Walks on the beach are quiet and we saw dolphin every morning. We will go back to stay another long weekend for sure. Thanks Eric and Jeff!

This is the second year in a row that our family has vacationed "in paradise" at Cedar Cove Resort for the week of Thanksgiving and we will book again for next Thanksgiving. This little oasis is quite the find with it's quaint, clean, perfectly appointed suites and SPECTACULAR view & location right on the beach. This year all three of our sons (2 are in college) were able to come to the resort and the five of us stayed in the Mermaid Suite-how perfect! The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner and the large deck provided the most wonderful setting for our feast. The bonus ~ the most spectacular view of the Gulf as we dined!! Sunsets are breathtaking. The Resort is within walking distance of many of the fun spots but secluded enough to feel the island spirit!! Eric & Jeff provide the greatest hospitality; they are the most helpful, welcoming, and fabulous hosts. Can't wait to return to this "little slice of heaven"!

My boyfriend and I went to Cedar Cove for the weekend last week (in November.) I had found the resort on TripAdvisor and knew it had to be a good choice due to all of the fabulous reviews. I booked our suite via phone after talking to Jeff. He gave me several different options and sent me photos to help me make my choice. He also got me all set up for an arrival after hours.

When we arrived I was a little skeptical because our suite was right off of the main road on Anna Maria, but in the end the air conditioners drowned out any outside noise. We stayed in the Bamboo Suite, which is the upstairs of a standalone two story building. We had a big deck on the top with lounge chairs and a glass patio table. The inside of the suite was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean, and the kitchen was equipped with enough dishes and cookware for us. We did cook breakfast in the kitchen the next morning and enjoyed it in the fresh air on the deck overlooking the beach and ocean.

Jeff and Eric were both great during our stay and we enjoyed the beach. Since we were only there for a short weekend we didn't get to experience too much, but this was far better than a standard hotel room. The only inconvenience - which was slight - was that there weren't a ton of towels in the suite. We had just enough in the bathroom and only one dish towel and one smaller washcloth in the kitchen. Jeff graciously provided a couple more bath towels when we asked.

I would definitely return to Cedar Cove again.

We chose Cedar Cove based on the reviews on this site. We were not disappointed!! The resort was fantastic and our host Eric was really helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the Sandcastle Suite and were so happy with the view. We will definitely be coming back!!

Room Tip: Go for one of the Gulf Front rooms - you will love it

I looked online for availability and it showed they had availability for 1 night stay on 11/26/11. I then called and spoke to Eric and explained what I needed. He was not helpful and acted as if he did not have time for me. I then went online to send a reservation request and low and behold Eric emailed back his answer. I will type it exactly as it came to me. "Hi..we have a 2 night minimum." I guess the fact I mentioned my wife and her friend would be bringing kids out during the day Sat. but the kids would not be staying overnight scared Eric. So Cedar Cove is not kid friendly. It is time for Eric and this establishment to get over themselves. So many choices out there. I will spread the word on my experience. I am a Tampa, Fl resident.

We at Cedar Cove Resort appreciate the input of (THIS PERSON EVEN THOU HE DIDN’T STAY WITH US) and thank this person for there review. And we can only apologize to you if you could not stay for two nights. We strive to make every holiday and vacation a special one with great memories for all our guests.

If you could have stayed with us we can absolutely guarantee you that you and your party would have had a great time. On the weekends we do have two and sometimes 3 night minimums.

This gentleman assumes that we are not kid friendly purely because we could not accommodate his one night. The fact of the matter is that we host dozens of family reunions throughout the year. We are one of the few Resorts that supplies children’s beach toys for them to play with.

We have a professional management and staff; and we are always known for working with all our guests to mutually resolve any issues that arise. Unfortunately we could not resolve yours because you only wanted to stay the one night.

We hope you and your family will visit our beautiful island soon and allow us the pleasure of hosting you.

Warm Regards

Eric the Manager

We spent a weekend at Cedar Cove Resort recently after a visit to Sarasota, Florida. What a beautiful resort to relax and enjoy the gorgeous beach and surroundings! Our visit was for two nights and we booked the "Bamboo" suite. VERY comfortable king bed with a bath, living room, full kitchen and a private deck to watch the sunset over the ocean from your own space. The beach is just outside your door, and the management does a great job of having beach chairs and tables that you can move around on the beach in front of Cedar Cove Resort. They have about 14-16 different units (each is unique) to choose from. Some are 2 BD, some are 1BD. The resort is centrally located on Anna Maria Island, close to the Trolley stops and all the restaurants and shopping. The Trolley is FREE and takes you all over Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach, Bradenton all day and until 10PM at night. We had rented a car to drive to the Island, but used it only when we returned to SRQ airport at the close of the weekend. The Trolley is so convenient- the driver knows just where to stop for each area that you want to explore and we enjoyed leaving the driving to them so we could sight see easier! The entire area is beautiful! Water on both sides of the island, with different views and piers to get off the Trolley and explore. 20 minutes later, another Trolley pulls up and you can resume your trip!
The weather (lst weekend of November) was perfect! Hot sun for laying on the beach, and the resort had air conditioning to cool off in. The managers, Eric & Jeff, are so helpful-gave us great suggestions for restaurants, etc. We used the refrigerator to store left-overs, never touched the stove - we were on vacation!! This small, intimate resort had been hosts to a wedding on the beach on Friday just before we arrived. We enjoyed meeting the new bride and groom - they were very pleased with how well Eric & Jeff handled all the Wedding arrangements. We simply enjoyed the beach, relaxed and took the Trolley for our sight seeing and to the fantastic restaurants on the Island. We hope to come back soon - missing that relaxation already! Thanks Eric & Jeff for creating such a fun environment for vacation!
