Seems to be a big difference in eating alone at the bar and at a table with the family as we had a less than wonderful meal on our last trip here on vacation.
Haxen and Weissbier still award winning but Schnizel ordered by the wife and daughter was dry and with little flavor. Also, a "side" order of a small salad and a few potatoes set us back another $9.00 which I thought was excessive. In general the prices seemed to be a bit higher than I recalled. Haxen was $21.90 with no salad but had a nice dumpling and some kraut with it.
The restaurant was extremely hot and the service, although we know it is a family venture, was way too slow for our taste. Most likely the temp had a lot to do with it.
It took us 30 minutes to get our check and pay after the meal and by the time we left I was in full sweat.
We were thinking maybe since it is near the end of season and the menu was abbreviated that the quality and service may have been down as well.
But when the tab is $125 you have to expect better.
Brigette and Wofgang, we will be back but will see if it is cool first and ask questions on prices and wha comes with dish next time.
