We stayed here for thee days during the time "Sandy" was passing offshore. The hotel itself is old but fairly well maintained. Some renovation would be good but then some of the old Florida beach motel charm would be lost. The neighborhood is hard to get into with several one way streets and then the hurricane flooded most of the streets during high tide and at times it was nearly impossible to get to AIA. The area is quite run down from when I remember it last and the drainage is very poor. As for the hotel itself...the host Diane is charming and really tries hard to made your stay pleasant. The room was very clean but not no attempt was made to service the room during the stay. I think it's more of a...your on your own efficiency apartment kinda stay. The room was well stocked with kitchen utensils and towels and that was greatly appreciated. Hollywood Beach was a mess during this stay due to the huge surf and tides bringing debris into the boardwalk and streets. All in all a good stay but not great. Perhaps during another time when things were not so chaotic from a storm.

it is literally steps from the clean, well maintained beach/boardwalk. hollywood is much larger than we thought, but it had a small town feel. we found it comfortable to walk, even late at night. less than 15 minutes to the airport, quicker than staying in ft. lauderdale, cannot imagine staying in ft. lauderdale or miami again. the room was clean and comfortable and felt like a home away from home. family run business, the easy going, no nonsense owners are a pleasure to deal with. have been renting suites/villas/efficiencies instead of a hotel room for years now, wish we had realized sooner that it is the way to go. thanks diane

Greeting from Russia! By reading all of these wonderful reviews, I never doubt that I make a right decision when I have choose that place, even before I arrived. I stayed there two months by the business purposes and I fell in love to those amazing people and this unique place. The atmosphere was fantastic!!! Diane was always attentive and helpful. The room was very clean and pleasant. By traveling all over the world, I have stopped at different places, and I can precisely tell that this one of the best places where I ever been. The building itself placed at the perfect location, just step from the beach. You can feel the ocean breeze every morning. Strongly recommend!!! I can't wait to get back!!! Best regards, Sly

My family was booked into a nearby hotel and it was so dirty, I could not stand to stay there for our vacation. We felt so so lucky to have discovered the Marine Villas and booked it immediately (we were very fortunate to get a refund on the other hotel but I might just have forgone it considering how disgusting the place was). Our little villa at Marine Villas was just so perfect! I can't emphasize enough how clean it was there. We loved the sweet owner Diane and really appreciated how much work her and her son Michael put into keeping the place tidy. This little gem has an amazing location towards the end of the beach where the crowds are not as thick as closer to the main area. Don't let that scare you though, the shopping and food establishments are a lovely walk up the boardwalk. We look forward to returning to our little gem on the beach.
