“Very nice hotel”

We used this hotel as an overnight before our cruise. They are very much set up to deal with the cruisers, in getting you to the cruise port, etc. The hotel is clean and located in an area where you can walk to several restaurants. It has a very nice pool and jacuzzi area. They are charging for the ride to the ship of $8 a person.

Great location while we waiting for our next destination. Dania beach just down the road and beautiful. The bed was super comfortable! The pool and in ground jacuzzi was well maintained and very nice surroundings. Jacuzzi nice and hot....perfect for January. Great stay....

We were a family group that rented 3 rooms Sunday January 6 for a precruise stay. The free airport pickup with their shuttle was great. Nice clean hotel and many restaurants in walking distance. The shuttle drivers offered to drop us off anywhere in the area we needed. There is a K-mart that sells beer and wine nearby and 2 doors away from the was a liquor store. The shuttle driver dropped us off. We also used them later for drop off at a local restaurant. Some of the family used the pool and thought it was very nice. The free breakfast was also great. All staff very friendly and eager to help. If we return to the area this place will be our 1st choice.

Room Tip: we had rooms on both sides floors 3, 4 and 5 all very very nice.

This La Quinta is clean and updated. The pool area is very nice and we had dinner delivered from a pizza place and ate there. But as in previous reviews, I suspect that if you book on another website you are given less consideration than others. We were put in room 600 - next to the elevator and across from the ice machine and vending. The room was very noisy - we could very clearly hear the family in the room next to us. We asked repeatedly to be moved to another room and were told that the hotel was booked - the night manager was surprised that we had booked two nights (before a cruise) and told us we would be contacted the next morning by the day manager and moved to another room. We were never contacted by anyone. I would not stay here again based on the lack of customer service. Cruise shuttle experience was good.

My family booked a cruise in late December, and coming from the Western U.S., we did not want to take a chance at missing the ship, so we flew in a day early. I chose the La Quinta, based on favorable TripAdvisor reviews, and the fact that it was located a 5 - 10 minute walk from a number of restaurants.

I booked the rooms through a national hotel Website, rather than through lq.com, and whether it should have been the case or not, we were treated like second class citizens upon arrival. Our rooms reeked of smoke - completely unacceptable for non-smoking reservations and travelers with allergies. My wife went down to the front desk to complain and get alternate rooms, and was told that when booking rooms through the national Website, the hotel did not have flexibility to change things. After persisting, we were given non-smoking rooms, though not on the same floor. My wife wanted a soft drink, but were were not allowed to put the charge on our room tab, again because of the booking through the non-La Quinta Website.

As others have pointed out, the rooms are good sized, and I did not have a problem with noise, though it was clear that the hotel caters to cruise ship passengers. That DID mean that the lobby was VERY crowded in the morning, with people having breakfast, and others with their bags waiting on shuttles to the cruise ship terminals. Seating was pretty much nonexistent without going outside. Breakfast was the standard - cereal, juice, coffee, waffles, fruit, breads - nothing extraordinary, but certainly adequate.

Throughout all of the morning rush, the front desk staff maintained their aloof attitude. A friendly "good morning" or "have a nice trip" would have gone a long way to my impression of this hotel.

So let me first give the positives: Friendly staff, clean, large room for the price. Huge negative...paper thin walls and loud guests in the next room. Literally could hear the tv going on in the room all night, and the walls were so thin I could hear the conversation being had by the guests at 6am in the room. So overall, I can't give the hotel a great rating because I couldn't get any sleep -- it wasn't at all restful. It's important to note, however, that I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and newness of the room, especially at the price point. The kitchen helper was also wonderful -- got me a cup of coffee even though it was after the breakfast hours. I don't think I would stay again due to the noise factor, but I do think if you are on a tight budget and can put up with the noise, it's a solid choice in a budget hotel.

Let me begin by saying that we often stay at the Bradley Airport La Quinta Inn. It is just what we need for an overnight before an early AM flight. When AA changed our flights I had to make new arrangements to get to Jamaica. Our new itinerary had us flying into FLL at 10:30 PM and then on to Montego Bay the next morning. Since we needed a room just for the one night I checked on line for a La Quinta near by. Most reviews were glowing (Best La Quinta ever, loved it, etc.) and I was really looking forward to our stay. We called for the shuttle after getting our bags and the person who answered seemed annoyed. They did not tell us where to meet the driver or how long it would be before we were picked up. By following others we found our way to the meeting spot but we waited at least 30 minutes and probably more. The driver was pleasant but the hotel was much further away than we thought. Check-in was quick thank goodness as it was now almost midnight and we were tired. The room was ok (not the cleanest) but the bathroom was disgusting. There was a large black ring in the toilet and around the drain in the tub. We were too tired to change rooms so we didn't complain but neither of us got much sleep thinking that there might be bedbugs. Breakfast was also disappointing; no yogurt or bananas. The staff in the AM was less than friendly and the shuttle back to the airport left 10 min. late. The driver never said a word but he did take a much quicker route. The setting of the hotel on a lake is about the only positive feature. I would never stay here again.
