“Nice location, great concierge lounge, small rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

We had a nice 3 night stay at this location. The hotel is kept in very good condition and the views from most balconies are great! The boardwalk area is great for exercise and entertainment. The concierge room and its employees were exceptional!

If you reserve a room with 2 queens be prepared to have a tight fit! There is only enough room to squeeze out of bed and not enough drawer space for 3 people to each have one drawer for clothing. We lived out of our suitcases. It was so small that we changed our 5 night stay to a 3 night stay.

I have stayed here several times. I have had some sort of issue every time with some sort of incompetence in some area or another. Chalked it to a FLORIDA thing. Well after a few of these incidents I decided to not go there for awhile hoping new management would improve the place, and even checked to see if some of the same people were still employed. You see I have been coming down to Hollywood for over 20 years and really love it. Read my review Delightful to dreadful to learn more, The kicker is I was there Nov. and I was literally sexually harassed by the towel person. Being that he is 20 to 30 years younger than me, it was highly AGRESSIVE and not an innocent flirtation, even that would not have been appropriate. I wanted to make another reservation for March and was hoping he would just self destruct, because frankly people like that do, or that someone else complained and he was gone. When I addressed this with management they gave me the run around so I would not cancel my reservation and were ambiguous about if he was even given a warning or not. So with a lot of hassle and fearing for my safety I did cancel. This hotel gets by on it's location but things better get better because they will have to start paying people to stay there soon if they have lawsuits on their hands.

Room Tip: Don't stay here. I am a loyal Marriott rewards member, This hotel is franchised out and not pro...

My husband and I spent 3 days and nights at the Marriott Hollywood Beach for a mini vacation in January to get away from the cold of New York City. It was our first time staying at Hollywood Beach and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located on a beautiful section of the beach. The views are amazing and the boardwalk is fun. My favorite times in Florida are spent sitting in the sun and we had the perfect weather and location for that. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is a fee for valet parking, but our car was very minutes after we called for it. The the rooms were nice, a little dark for my taste, but extremely comfortable. We travelled up to Ft. Lauderdale one day for lunch at Las Olas, which is less than 15 minutes away, and another day we drove down to Miami, which is about 40 minutes away (with traffic). I think for this reason, the location is perfect for us. We will definitely be heading back to this hotel in the near future.

Upon arrival at this hotel for the BCS football game, i was a little skeptic about the older appearing building. Valet parking was roughly 20.00 night. If you get the chance, ask for the 10th floor suite, very large windows looking south down the beach/ocean. Room was clean and i love the beds at marriott hotels. I had the breakfast buffet for 17.00 and it was very good, lunch at the outisde bar was roughly 75.00 with drinks. Pice was obviously increased for the game, definitely would not pay roughly 500.00 night for this hotel but if you could get the suite for 300.00 with taxes then it would definitely be worth it. Just beware, tourism taxes run roughly 100.00

Room Tip: pick the 10th floor suite

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights for Orange Bowl. The rooms were very nice, clean, beds comfortable, walk right out to the boardwalk and beach. also had fridge in the room. There was a decent pool and little outdoor bar area which was ok. It was quite crowded so it may have seemed like servers were a little stressed when trying to order. I liked that you could get a quick coffee and/or a pizza to go right in the lobby. Parking was connected which made it convenient to come and go. I would probably stay again.......

The hotel is the tallest building in the area, so the views of the ocean are excellent. The decor of the hotel is a little dark for South Florida. It is exactly the same interior decor as the Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort. They were freshening it up while I was there. There was new carpet being installed, public areas being painted on the Penthouse floor, which did not effect hotel guests from what I could see. The salt water pool was clean and heated. There is a little silliness that goes on with people putting towels on beach chairs to hold them and not using them or chair hogging. The pool staff was diplomatic in handling that. There is one pool attendant who acts a little more like a bouncer at a night club, then a friendly accomodating hotel staff member for families on vacation. You'll know who he is when you see him.The only issue I truly had was outside seating area on the beach at the hotel restaurant "latitude". The inside seating and service seemed to be well run. The outside service depending on the staff working was much different, you either had a well oiled, perfectly functioning staff or a table service trainwreck. The differences were that extreme. Pricing on the hotel was a little high but, Hey, that's what they all do to you on Christmas week.

Room Tip: There is a difference between oceanfront and oceanview. If you want that pure unobstructed oceanfron...

This hotel looked dated as we drove up and I was a little nervous. The lobby did not impress and as we waited and waited for the elevator, I was concerned that the hotel would be a disappointment.

No worries. OK view of beach and boardwalk from balcony, nicely furnished, clean and in good repair. The bath was marble and granite. Fridge in room, fairly big screen flat TV, no problem with free internet connection. The concierge suite was well stocked and food was fresh and appealing. The crowds in concierge suite were a problem. Big desk. Nice pool with plenty of chairs and poolside service. The beach bar and grill were very nice, and food was great. Staff very well trained and all had a great service attitude. The parking is $17 a day.
