“Excellent customer service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Stayed here with four other couples before cruising and it was nice. Clean, decent continental breakfast, good connection to Fort Lauderdale airport and only $8 to cruise terminal. What was really amazing was on our return to the hotel for one night between disembarking from the cruise ship and flying home. We arrived early, around 9:45 am, check-in isn't until the mid afternoon. My partner recently had knee replacement and needed a comfortable place to sit. The front office staff happily helped get us into a clean room within an hour of arrival. Amazing customer service! I'd stay here again.

Stayed here overnight before leaving on cruise in January 2013. Free pick up from airport, however was disappointed to find out on arrival that there was an $8 per person fee to get taken to the cruise port the next day (not clearly advertised). Hotel was relatively clean, but take earplugs as we were next to the freeway and it was noisy. Free breakfast was nice, but eating area was small and crowded. Staff were polite and helpful. All in all, fine and inexpensive for an overnight before cruise ship (FYI- apparently there is NO shuttle that will pick people up after a cruise, so you would have to take a taxi), but I wouldn't want this to be a vacation destination!

Yeah - we're leaving for a cruise. This is going to be great! Or so we thought. It's just so sad that we can spend a week on an international cruise boat with no complaints, but we can't spend a night at a hotel in the US without lies and "it's not my fault."

I picked this hotel very specifically because of:
--its overall good rating
--its location (near to Port Everglades pier)
--it wasn't more than twice my budget
I picked this hotel despite being VERY overpriced for the quality.

Hotel features...
--Pool: No way I was going in that water
--Room: Dark, smelly, and "has this carpet ever been cleaned"
--Bed: Woke up with two bug bite welts on my back (use your imagination because I just don't want to think about it)
--Front desk: "No we don't offer free shuttle service to pier as described. We offer PAID service with only three runs to the pier, and by the way, we have no more room for you on the shuttles." Are you kidding me? That's the primary reason I booked the room and confirmed the shuttle service by phone ahead of time.
--Hotel manager: [Scowling at me for being such an inconvenience in her day] "It's not my fault. I told Travelocity [probably one time - if at all] over a year ago to change our description so that it does not mention the 'free' shuttle service." Oh, and [mentioning to another guest] - she definitely "doesn't get paid enough" for putting up with us.

In the end, she mysteriously found us a seat on the shuttle. That was a nice perk.

Do yourself a favor - stay at the Holiday Inn across the street. This Days Inn uses their airport shuttle anyway.

Room Tip: Do yourself a favor - Stay at the Holiday Inn across the street.

On behalf of the staff and management of Days Inn please accept my apology for your unpleasant stay at the Days Inn.
We strive to ensure our guest experience the best visit possible during their travels and we fell short of our goal this time. As I said I did speak with Travelocity and they assured me that all the information on the website is correct.

We stayed here for two nights before our cruise...the hotel was clean but average. Free continental breakfast which was ok. The shuttle service was good, dependable from the airport to the hotel. They stop service at midnight so if planning to use it, make sure you have a flight that arrives before 12. We chose to take the taxi though to the cruise port as the shuttle service is $8 per person and we had four in our party. Taxi was $25 and that was because we had to wait in line at the port, otherwise would have been cheaper.
This hotel has a nice fitness facility..they use the 7th floor as their gym so there's ample space and its quiet up there as its only other rooms are just for storage.
Service was good.

The rooms are VERY small. The toilet didn't flush well and a lot of times not at all. The room door did not lock, which unfortunately we didn't discover untiil the next morning. Seemed like the door handle caught but if you pushed hard enough the door opened. There was a dirty sock left in one of our rooms. The tub didn't drain. Took a shower in 3 inches of water. There were 4 of us so..... not very nice. The pillows were not supportive at all, poor sleep between that and the noise of the freeway.

Check in staff was awesome! The trouble came when going to the cruiseport. On check in we made reservations for the shuttle and were given a time and ticket. When the shuttle arrived it was a disaster, no one asked for the tickets so anyone and everyone was crowding in. They loaded bags onboard and then there were no seats left on the van. This should have been done by calling out the names on the list and asking for the tickets. So many people without reservations displaced those who had done the right thing and made the necessary reservations. They also charged a "port" charge per person, so I assume only those of us who made reservations paid that fee and the rest did not.

We booked the Days Inn for pre-cruise vacation, and stayed the two nights prior to sailing. We arrived at Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood airport around 11:30 p.m. and phoned immediately for pick-up as the cut-off was midnight. We were told the shuttle would be about 20 minutes, and we had about 17 minutes wait time. The shuttle driver was friendly and cheery and helpful with loading our luggage. Our rooms were clean and adequate. A second party arrived the following evening and the shuttle picked them up at the airport as well, and our room was sufficiently spacious enough for the four of us to stay. Our only complaint was the noise from the traffic. Breakfast was good although the eating area is way too small. We didn't use the pool as it was too cool, but we enjoyed the exercise room and equipment. Denny's was a good option for our evening meal. We opted to take a taxi as the shuttles were booked early and time slots limited, but in retrospect it might have been cheaper to take the shuttle and probably faster.
(They charge $8.00 per person to the cruiseline).

Room Tip: We would stay here again --good value for the money.
