We stayed the night before our cruise out of Port Everglades. Check in was smooth and the desk people were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean (a big plus!). The maid was outside our door when we arrived and had just cleaned the room. After being in the room a short while decided to get some ice, was gone a few minutes, after we returned the maid knocked and acted confused like she needed in to clean? We told her we just checked in and she acted like she couldn't understand English. Not sure what was going on , but I think she wasn't expecting us to be in the room. Was disappointed we were charged a fee for the room safe which we didn't use, and a fee for misc. which included soap which we didn't use. We did leave our car during the cruise and paid $6.00 per day which was a deal. I would stay there again.

After my flight was cancelled at FLL, I had to do a last-minute, late-night search for a hotel near the airport. I chose the Comfort Inn and was pleasantly surprised.

Sure, it's way overpriced like all hotels these days (where have all the decent sub-$100/night hotels gone??), but it has a great feature that really sets it apart from the usual dull suburban hotel: the pool/bar!

I arrived at 11 pm and was REALLY happy to see an open bar and barbecue by the pool. Beer on tap, a balmy February evening, a friendly guy cooking up a tasty burger, a convivial atmosphere -- what could be better?

The rooms were newly renovated and clean, but forgettable. The surrounding are typical Florida generic. What I'll remember are the good vibes!

With a superb Patio Bar and Grill there is no need to travel off hotel property. But, if you want to go for a stroll off propery you have a great shopping and dining area well with in walking distance. We actually traveled a short distance to the Hollywood Beach "Broadwalk" (not boardwalk) as suggested by a hotel staff member(LeeAnn was very informative on area surroundings and events). It was definitley worth the $20 bucks for the r/t cost of the cab ride. This is by far the best pre cruise stop I have been at and would recommend this location to those Cruise travelers who are looking for that total pre cruise layover location!
PS. breakfast is FREE( and its not just coffee and donuts) and so is the shuttle to and from the airport and cruise ship, but, don't forget to to reserver your shuttle departure time when you check in ..

Another couple and us stayed pre cruise at the Comfort Inn Airport/Cruise port south and had a great time. The rooms that we were in were newly tiled and decorated. The washrooms were clean as was the room. Drinks by the pool were great! Breakfast was continental and satisfying. Very close to a shopping area with K Mart, Old Navy and other stores and restaurants to bowse and collect your gear for a cruise. (Beer, liquor, pop, water, etc).

Being collected at the airport on their shuttle was painless and quick. Booked the shuttle to the ship when we checked in and that went without a hitch. Unloaded our luggage and dropped us off at the pier.

Only 2 negatives about this property:

1. The rooms are all walk ups (I think that is the term) meaning the upper levels of rooms are connected by a balcony walk way. Well in the morning you can hear people walking with their roll away luggage. Sounds like a jet plane taking off.

2. The back gate is locked (for security measures) so to go shopping you had to walk around the long way. I know it's a lame negative but I had to say something.
