While staying in Hollywood, FL, I wanted to go to a restaurant that was not commercial or over-hyped by tourists. Something small and a place that had not been tarnished by continuous droves of tourists (like me). I had read reviews for Le Tub online before, and most of them said it was worth it for sure. I have to say that I agree. Le Tub has a very small presence on the street, and I highly recommend Googling the directions before you go to find it so that you don't get lost. It would be a shame to miss out on this one.
About the place, once "inside" (it's a pretty open-aired restaurant that sprawls along the inter-coastal waterway) the tables and booths create a veritable maze around the place. There are steps up, down, and all around making this tricky for any handicapped patrons. Sit at one of the booths along side the waterway so that you can watch incoming boats. The menu is small and fairly basic, but the food has so much flavor and character. The menu appears to be the original handwritten one from the 70s. I had the sirloin burger (a whopping 13oz) which I gather is one of their specialties. My friend and I also nibbled on some steamed clams, massive shrimp, some bloody mary's, and a small basket of wedge fries. Don't worry, this was over the course of 3 hours. The servers at Le Tub are human have a personality. Not ashamed to recommend other establishments that serve awesome seafood.
If you have made it this far in this review, please just try Le Tub out for yourself. We went around 4ish which appeared to be the time to do it. They get busy later on, but the cooks are not rushed; they will take their time with every dish...making the wait time fairly long, at least I gathered from some of the people ordering as we left. I highly recommend!
