Ok, I can understand the appeal of a water view and rustic furnishings but give me a break. First of all, the restaurant is located next to a parking lot of garbage trucks...hmm, could this account for their roach problem?

My husband ordered a burger and I ordered a fish sandwich and was told they're out of fish - what? It's only 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday night, how do you run out of fish? Then we were told there's a 45 minute wait for a burger! Are they slaughtering the cows in the kitchen!

Of course drinks and appetizers will come right away, but the overpriced and watery drinks come in 8oz. plastic cups. The burger was burned on the outside and rare in the center and nothing special. For a $12 burger served without any sides I expect it to rock!

Don't waste your time, there's so many better places where you'll get a water view, reasonable prices and tasty food. Try Giorgio's on the water a few blocks down or any restaurant on the boardwalk.

“Best burgers and bloody mary's around!”

Although the service can sometimes be poor, and the wait is average 30 to 60 minutes to get your order, it is well worth the wait. By far the best burgers and bloody mary's around. They are quoted to be 13oz burgers, but they don't weigh each one. I have had burgers there that are 16oz + (Thats a pound of serloin!!) I will not ever visit Florida without making a trip to Le Tub for burgers and drinks. I live in Las Vegas and would and will make a trip to Florida just to have burgers and bloody mary's at this place. They also have an amazing Seafood Gumbo that is off the hook! A true burger/bloody mary lovers heaven!

I live in New York, and had been in the Fort Lauderdale area due to a family illness. I was in the mood for a GOOD bar (pub) burger & a drink. My brother who lives there mentioned this place about 20 minutes away called "Le Tub" and said they were voted best burger in the country. Being a huge burger fan, I"M IN. As we parked the car, I noticed a sign in front of us that said "voted best bloody mary" I couldn't believe it. It just so happens that I am also a huge bloody mary fan. I didn't even have to look at the menu. I ordered the biggest baddest cheeseburger they had (which only comes in one size) and a bloody mary. The wait wasn't too bad, but either way well worth it. To this day it is by far the best burger & bloody mary I have had. Since then I have been back there several times and there has never been a disappointment. Yes sometimes the wait is a long one, but if you are in a hurry you should have gone to a drive through. As far as bugs, YOU ARE OUTSIDE, and you cant control that. As far as price, this is the twenty first century. Everything is expensive. I didn't think the prices were too bad considering the atmosphere on the water, and the taste quality of the food and drink. Overall, an outstanding place to go. I will be back on every visit to Florida. My other brother lives in Las Vegas, and will fly accross the country to meet me there. The quest for the ultimate cheeseburger has ended at Le Tub.

Had heard about this place but couldn't find it. Finally did tonight and ordered burgers after being told our order would take one hour to arrive because of a shift change in waiters/waitresses. It actually took a half hour and our burgers were great. Huge and delicious! Plates are paper and utensils plastic. Not fancy but a great place to grab a burger outdoors. Pretty setting. Parking at a premium. We had to pay to park on a side street because the parking lot was full and closed off.

“Remember - this is a BAR that happens to serve burgers”

I grew up in Hollywood and Pembroke Pines in the 80s. Back then Le Tub was great bar to go to – not only did it have a great atmosphere but they didn’t card me and I was only 17. We didn’t go there for the food – we went for rum & cokes and a great view of the Intracoastal at night. Yes, we occasionally ordered food and the burgers were good, but what people fail to understand is that Le Tub was (and is) primarily a bar.

I now live in Massachusetts but occasionally visit South Florida. A few years back, I nearly fell out of my chair when I heard about the all the publicity GQ and Oprah had generated. This funky little former gas station nestled among the trees and foliage had garnered some huge attention for its burgers. I can completely understand the locals for being real upset (they lost their watering hole) as well as the tourists’ frustration (“this is the best burger in America?!?”). It seems the owner is caught in the middle, a victim of his own success.

My advice to tourists and burger-hounds is to understand that this is a small local bar that just happens to serve a really good burger. This is not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination. Most of the seating is actually located outside.

Go into Le Tub expecting the worse (possibly surly service, long wait times, overpriced menu items, limited parking, and no credit cards) but hoping for the best (an awesome char-grilled burger, real good fries, and cold beer). Bring cash and your patience. To avoid crowds, try off-hours (like 3 in the afternoon during the week) or off-season (July anyone?).

My most recent visit was January 2008. I went at 3pm on a Wednesday and had no wait. It took about 15 minutes for my $11 cheeseburger to arrive. Yes, it was charred on the outside and almost rare on the inside. Yes, it was a big, sloppy mess. But it was awesome.

BOTTOM LINE:
If you temper your expectations with some reality, you will probably have a good time.
