One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. Music is everywhere, the staff is friendly, and the cleanliness of the hotel is absolutely perfect.

The casino in this place seemed like a scene out of a prohibition era speak-easy. A ton of smoke everywhere and the non-smoking area was a joke. I recommend putting the smokers in a fish bowl like at the airport not the other way around. Most of the casino patrons had a weather-beaten look somewhat like an 60 year old former rock star but that is pretty much in keeping with the theme here. Stayed here on the day before Halloween so am not sure if they dressed-up normally of if it was just the holiday. The staff seemed friendly enough. Check-in was uneventful but I did notice that security with hand scanners were scanning every room key before allowing you on the elevator -- I actually liked this but it made me wonder what happened that caused them to go to these lengths. Anyway the room was clean and when I turned on the "privacy please" button I did not get the normal 8 am wakeup call from housekeeping that occurs in most hotels. So one point for them. There seemed to be plenty going on at the city walk area if you wanted to exit into normal relatively smoke free air. Despite the advertisements I could not locate the 24 hour 10 dollar blackjack tables that I seem to recall seeing on billboards the way there so I hit the video blackjack which was not very player friendly in that it did not allow for doubling or splitting at all. So that got old pretty fast. The band playing in the Hardrock cafe that night was above average but seemed to confuse volume with talent. The food was actually pretty good there in comparison to other Hardrocks I have visited in the past or perhaps it was just that everything seemed loaded with spices that went along with the beer I was drinking. On final review I would likely stay here again but not on a holiday.

The three of us arrived around 3pm, parking was valet and a daily charge...getting car during stay was delayed frequently and toward the end, a nightmare. Check in time is 4pm but we were not allowed to check in until 530pm; no apologies received. The hotel is bustling with activity as it is a magnet for gamblers and party people...which is fine with us..The room was clean and roomy but view was Northeast and we saw the flat rooftops of other buildings. The next day we spent at the pool...very pretty but the depth of the pool is only 1 meter (a little over 3 feet). So there was no ability to stand and stay completely under water or to do any water aerobics...the pool seemed to full of people that cram more in their than the hotel allows...Pool closes at 6pm..Not very nice, in our opinion...Seems as though Management wants people inside to gamble. Prices of drink are outrageously high, whether indoors or outdoors...food also expensive unless you eat at the food court. We had rented two rooms and upon check out, our friend left her ID in safe and hotel would not retrieve it because they said someone else checked in. Whoever checked in wasnt in their room and hotel would not budge...The valet wouldnt retreive the girls car since she left ID in safe and therefore she couldnt leave the hotel...This went on for a course of 4 hours ..We eventually did an affidavit to get car..She left and we stayed one more night...The next day it took more explaning and arguing with management and finally they allowed us to retrieve her ID from the room she had previoiusly vacated....The whole general attitude of staff was condescinding and indifference...The hotel has nothing to offer unless one gambles, drinks and parties, would suggest spending your money on a beach resort, the Florida Keys or Orlando.
