“Fantastic place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011

Are room was updated and clean, everyone on the staff is extremelt friendly and helpful. The golf course is very well kept. The restaurant/bar has a wonderful staff and great food. Our whole experience was amazing and very inexpensive. I highly recommend the Hollywood Beach Golf Resort.

Room Tip: Pay the extra $10 per night for the screened in porch facing the golf course.

we had plans to attend an art opening in Hollywood at the Art and Culture Center and wanted to stay overnite closeby. Most places of quality were on or near the water, pricey, with hidden charges for parking etc. Then we discovered this hidden gem. Sheltered within the grounds of one of Hollywood's lovely public golf courses stands the Hollywood Beach and Golf Resort. The course, designed by Donald Ross in 1924 originally was for guests of the then famous but now moldering Hollywood Beach Hotel a few miles to the East. So while there is currently no beach, there is a trip back in time with a laid back atmosphere and gentle helpful service by all the staff. The rooms are spacious with views of the golf course adding to the peaceful attitude. Bathrooms are all of nice size and many have recently upgraded. Ours was the old tile, clean as a whistle with plenty of counter space and even a medicine cabinet and night light. We heard no souds from neighboring rooms. The adjacent bar and restaurant offered Florida hospitality on the cheap with a great breakfast menu on h weekends, three dollar mimosas and bloody marys and music and sports on TV in the late hours. Our only error was not having made time to play at least nine holes but we did spend a lovely few ours in the sparkling pool surrounded by lush landscape and towering palms swaying in the gentle breeze. Parking was free. There were many restaurants within a mile or so. And of course, the exhibit at the Hollywood Art and Culture Center include work by my prize winning artist wife, Deborah Goldman,

Room Tip: Choose the golf course view over poolside

We were looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel, which was clean and updated. This hotel met all of these requirements. As mentioned in other reviews, this hotel is located on a golf course in the middle of a suburban area. I don't know that I would consider this place a "resort" as the name indicates, at least not by today's standard. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel (to the east & south) is nice and the property is approx 1.5-2 miles from Hollywood Beach. We stayed on the 2nd floor in a pool view room, which was nice. I'd say the resort was built in the 50s or 60s but it's been updated to a moderate standard. Prior to our arrival, the hotel staff called to confirm our arrival time and ended up leaving the keys in a lock box since we were arriving after 5pm. My only complaint is that we called maintenance twice and left messages - on two separate days - and no one called back or fixed the issue (with our toilet). I attribute this to the fact that there is not "front desk" staff as you would expect in other hotels so after 5pm you're somewhat out of luck if you need anything.

Nice place however maybe a bit far from downtown Miami.

Room Tip: Prefer a room on the golf side. Better than the parking side! However it's quiet

This hotel was very clean, affordable and quiet. The pool was clean and accesible. The sor excellent for a nice morning walkIt was very close to the Hollywood, beach and around 20 to Miami Beach. This hotel is very quite and the surroundings are beautiful, very nice for a walk if you don't play golf like me. I will stay again! The restaurant it was not good and the service the worse. But, there are a lot of places around the hotel to eat, a lot better and cheaper.

I was there in July. Can't tell you how incredibly good this resort is. The rooms are huge, the view to the golf course is fantastic. The bathrooms are spacious and as clean as they can get. The wireless internet is streaming and free. Each room /which is actually suite or a small appartment/ is named after famous golf pro and you feel the class.
The most valuable asset though are pobably the people working there. Nilda is doing a fantastic job as a manager and is equally matched by her assistant Jill.
The smal, cozy beautiful restaurant serves great food and awsome margaritas. It is run by the friendliest lady I met at such a place. Her name is Moon and she knows what she is doing. Friday and Saturday the live band plays oldies and all american favorites.
Add the perfect location, the quietness, the pool, the 18 holes golf course, the plenty of free parking, the phones and the cable in the rooms, the "no surprise charges" rule strictly observed and the smell of "class" What more you could wish for ?
Ah yes - the price... Couldn't believe it - it's just the smallest fraction of what one pays for a golf club place and not in South Florida.

I am going back in August. I can't wait to be there again. Really guys - this is not an add. I am in love with the place and you will be too

We have a friend who used to spend his winters at this hotel, playing golf every day. I stumbled upon it online, and decided to book a trip because I wanted to do some sightseeing in Miami and the Everglades. To be honest, I was disappointed with the area surrounding the hotel. However, the hotel itself was fine. We were in a recently renovated room that was beautiful. Everything was in good working order and was new. Very nice. The room itself was very clean, and the staff worked hard daily to keep it that way. The building itself could be considered to be showing its age a bit, but if they redo all of their rooms to look like the one we had, no one will mind one bit.

The hidden gem in the parking lot tucked behind a fence and some nice Florida foliage is the beautiful swimming pool. It was clean and appeared brand new. We really enjoyed it.

We played golf every day. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the course is. There are many beautiful plants, birds, animals and trees. I loved the rooster! I looked for him every day, and even have a picture of him. The course is a Donald Ross design which provided the appropriate level of challenge for us. The people who work in the pro shop (George and co.) and outside by the carts are all top notch. They couldn't have been more friendly and accomodating. Even the guys on the lawnmowers always gave a friendly wave. How nice it was to step right outside our hotel room and be at our golf cart with the clubs on it, waiting for us to climb aboard.

We had lunch a couple times at Nikki's on the Green, the on site restaurant. The food and drinks were decent enough. You know what makes it even nicer? Again, the staff. (Hello Jasmine!)

To sum it all up here, it was the caring and committed staff at Hollywood Beach Golf Resort that make this place an oasis in Hollywood Florida. From the maintenance guy to the housekeeper, the beverage cart girl to the restaurant wait staff, and a fabulous golf course staff overall, they really understand how to deal with people. Their high standard of service are to be commended. Thank you Nilda, for arranging a very nice stay at your hotel.
