“Great Facility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Very mixed emotions about this hotel. The facility is wonderful. Our suite could not be better complete with a 35' balcony with ocean view on the 24th floor. Bed sleeps well, bath has separate shower and whirlpool tub, and separate room for stool. Great coffee service with Starbucks Pike Place and a small frig.

Maid service was particularly accommodating cleaning the room early mornings.

On the negative side the Diplomat Steak House is ridiculously expensive and is the only restaurant available after 6 PM outside room service which is also ridiculous expensive--$65 for a hamburger and a Cuban sandwich with fires and $40 for a small pizza.

Don't mind spending money, just don't want to feel robbed.

Before I espouse all the great features of this hotel, I would like to state that the drinks are weak. If you are going here to drink, you might want to BYOB.
HOWEVER
The pools don't allow folks to 'save' seats, which more than makes up for the weak drinks. I could always find a free chaise lounge near a pool, and this is a huge deal to me.

I'm not a big drinker, so the weak drinks didn't really bother me considering all the other great features and benefits, like the "no reserving seats" feature.
The hotel itself is beautiful; gorgeous lobby, lovely pools and decks, new 2-story gym, and exquisite spa! The grounds are meticulous, and everything is in pristine shape.
The staff couldn't be nicer or more hospitable; from the valets to front desk to all the food staff.

Food was very good or excellent, albeit expensive, so be prepared for the bill.
The location was excellent, as well, as this hotel is abutted to the beach. You don't have to cross the street, criss-cross boardwalks, or get across 15 feet of sea grass to access the beach.
The rooms are quiet; I didn't hear doors slamming or people screaming, which I have in other popular beach hotels. The bathrooms are new and gorgeous, and they even have a nice make-up mirror, which is always a nice touch.
There were lots of families here, but the parents all had control of the kids, and there weren't too many random children running freely.
There were numerous options for meals, which was really nice. There is a pool/beach café, a casual dining restaurant, a cafeteria style shop with prepared salads, sandwiches, lovely desserts, and lot of drink options, including liquor. There are also a lobby bar and fine dining restaurant, neither of which I tried, but my point is, there is something for every taste.
The spa is EXQUISITE. The photos are spot on. Absolutely tranquil, beautiful, and rejuvenating.
The fitness center is new with a nice selection of cardio equipment, machines, and a limited set of dumbbells (up to 50 lbs, I believe).
I had a ocean-facing room with balcony, which was wonderful.
I was told my internet access was free for being a Hilton Honors member, however I was charged on my bill, so I'll have to call hotel and straighten that out.
My husband and I had a wonderful time, and I plan to return with friends.

Every employee goes out of their way to acknowledge you and make you feel special. The doorman Joey was very friendly and not only provided us with information about the surrounding areas but the best way to travel there. Never did we feel that we were disturbing or a burden to the employees. The premises were sparkling clean and beautiful, the food was tasty and the beach/pool were so relaxing. I enjoyed the most remarkable facial in the Spa from Sherry. We truly were in a mini paradise.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms You don't need ocean front to enjoy the room. We had an incredible room...

From the second we arrived there, the service was phenomenal and friendly. From valets, the front desk clerk, bellmen and waitstaff. The layout and design of the lobby, pools and overall hotel was inspiring and relaxing at the same time. Poolside, order the shrimp on a salad, very tasty. Right on the ocean with beautiful views. Must stay here if you can.

Room Tip: Higher Floors, better views

When you pay almost $400 a night for a hotel room, you do expect that they include internet and valet parking and the use of the beach chairs and umbrellas for FREE. Well sadly this was not the case with this resort. Everything was an upcharge. Be prepared for this when booking.

Room Tip: The partial water view has a full view of the building next to you.

If you're in the FLL / Hollywood, FL area and need a mani/pedi (but be prepared to pay a resort premium price), be sure to stop by the Diplomat Resort & Spa - and have Rosalind work on you. She was great - really professional, wonderfully attentive (she handled the blisters on my heels with aplomb), and did a great job - my nails look fabulous! Enjoy - relax - and you'll be really happy you did!

I work as a professional cinematographer and editor.

While staying at the hotel I needed a HD tv with a working hdmi input to use as a second monitor for a fast approaching video editing deadline.

I called guest services and they sent a man named Neuf from engineering to assist me.

After trying to multiple solutions to troubleshoot & fix the issue with the existing tv... Neuf went out of his way and brought me up a brand new HD tv so I could complete my work.

It's that kind of attention to detail and customer service that real sets a high standard.

In fat , Neuf should be consider a true asset to the company. He should be rewarded and applauded for his efforts for going above & beyond the call of duty.

Thank you greatly!!!

—Michael
