We stayed at the Westin Diplomat for a convention in November of this year, and had a very nice time. The hotel itself is beautiful, the lobby is very nice, with fountains and plenty of comfortable chairs for lounging around. Our room was on the 33rd floor, and we had a balcony overlooking the ocean, which was nice, but it was very windy and we were almost too high to enjoy the view. The room itself was very nice, but it was a little small for our family - 2 adults, a 4 year old and an 18 mo old. The bathroom was well done.
The pools are great, but the deck did get a little crowded, it was tough to find a chair sometimes. We were very disappointed that they closed the "upper" pool on the Saturday that we were there because they were going to have a wedding. The wedding wasn't until 6 PM, but the pool was closed the entire day, which was disappointing because the kids liked that one better. It was warmer, and had a shallow area for the kids.
The food was good, we had brunch there which was delicious, but we went out for most of our meals. The food in the area is somewhat expensive and there is almost nowhere to walk.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, but it wasn't the best place to have little kids.
The hotel was very nice, but if had not been for the conference it wouldn't have been our first choice.
