“AWESOME STAY!!! GREAT STAFF!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2011

We have stayed at the Hollywood Beach Resort for the last 4 years that we have cruised out of that area for our pre-cruise stay. We will going back Feb 18th before our next cruise and stay a day after our cruise.

The place is a little old but very rustic, unique, you are in Florida and right on the beach!! What more can you ask for???? They have a great pub, a great pool, a great grocery store right in the hotel that you can buy beer and some essentials before you cruise. There is a boardwalk that has lots of things going on at night. There is a nice little coffee place that sells sandwiches in the morning along with coffee. The staff at the front desk has always been GREAT!!!!! The Shuttle guy has always been friendly and very resourceful. Ok the rooms need updated but we travel a lot and it is not the Ritz Carlton but it is comfortable, a great location on the beach and great food and drinks in the bar. Oh yea they do have a little t shirt place in the hotel too. If you are not picky and like the beach it is the place to stay.

This is a 1920's era hotel on the Hollywood Boardwalk Our room was a suite (with kitchenette) on the 7th floor and had a great pool/ocean view. We paid $129 per night, a nice price for this time of year. The room had been updated with ceramic throughout and nice, beachy furniture. There's a pool and jacuzzi and a restaurant next door named O'Malley's. Good food and cold beer, great place to watch football. There's a $10/nite resort fee but it includes a nice breakfast. My only complaints: An $18 per day tab for valet parking (there's a self park garage close by that's a better choice) and 2 of the 3 old windows wouldn't open. The staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed 3 nights and will probably come back.

Called the hotel for the free airport shuttle pickup--phones were down and couldn't speak to someone for more than 10 sec. before call dropped. Consierge said he would charge for the ride. He said, "listen lady, you don't really know what the website says, so do you want a ride or not?" Guards by elevators in glassed-in booth. Room was not like picture on website. Comforter had specks of blood on it, and sheets had hair on them. Went to call front desk, but no cord was attached to phone. Loud fighting in hall. Slept with our clothes on and got out fast. What a nightmare.

My wife and i have been going to the Ramada for the past 7 years we have NEVER had a problem with anyone their. The front desk always took care of us when needed them, last year we took our 4 sons to the Resort for the frist time ( it was always OUR get away spot ) they had a Great time swimming in the pool & ocean and when it came time to eat O'Malley's Ocean Pub was the place to get Good Food & Great Drinks the people at the Bar were always helpful with everything and yes Randy always make you feel like a friend. When you have enough to eat you can walk it off on the Broadwalk. See you again this May

This hotel is just a pitiful sad situation. The building, you can tell, was once a grand beautiful place, but the shotty "renovation" left much to be desired. The room was fine, and the lobby was nice, but there were no outdoor terraces without going to the pool or bar. The bathroom in the mall area was an abomination. The staff was very friendly to us, except for the parking guy. He was very rude and negative. The parking fee was pretty ridiculous at $18 per day. It seems to me that this place could be a real gem with proper management and marketing, but clearly, the management is terrible. We were told that they spent millions on the renovations, but they really halfway did everything. There was SO much empty real estate in the mall area, which also screams to me "bad management". Please get someone to take better care of what could be a wonderful place!

This was our second stay at the Hollywood Beach Resort and once again we were not disappointed. The hotel is still undergoing reonnovations and they have upgraded security up to the rooms since our last stay. However, they are still struggling with some basics like elevators working (at one point only one of three were working) and telephone service (their main line was down for a considerable part of our stay).

But for the price, I think you get a great room (beds could us an upgrade) at a great location (right on the beach). There is O'Malley's right out the back door and you can take your drinks to the pool! The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, however the concierge seemed either a bit uninformed or didn't want us going to a restauant he wasn't getting a kickback from. We asked about a downtown restaurant and he said he hadn't heard of it and thought it was new. Turns out it opened in 1996....

I would definitely stay here again. The proximity to South Beach, the Hollywood Boardwalk and really all of South Florida makes this a great bang for your buck.

The stay was comfortable. However, the hotel and rooms need a little bit of remodeling. The staff is nice and helpful. Wi-fi is free. Valet parking is $18 and self-parking $15, a bit pricey for the location.
