“Hollywood Beach Resort ( Old Ramada Hotel )”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

I see allot of negative reviews on this building and just spent 2 weeks there from March 22, 2012 and beg to differ. I rented the unit for a private owner who was very nice on the phone explaining every detail to me prior to the trip. Unit was clean and very functional, size of a hotel room with a full kitchenette and 3pc wash room with the bath tub. Price was great and location perfect very satisfied. There is a hotel program in the building that many talked negatively about but I rented privately.
For those who stayed here I also wanted to share that I returned from a 6 day stay at Trump Ocean Club 2 months ago newly built at $560/nigh and aside from visually newer and more modern room the craftsmanship, quality of workmanship was a disaster. Try turning the tap without it sating in your hand, granite cuts were way bigger gaps that fittings, glass shower leaking into the main room no matter what I tried doing to prevent it, highrise building construction on both sides, no beach...made me realise that grass is really greener on the other side if you just don't know what you don't know...lol...

Room Tip: Talk to the owners and ask questions to assure a great stay.

Im always the guy saying "these people writing negative reviews are not giving the place a chance"...Not this time !....This place looks like its already been condemned....Security staff is a joke....Looks like the ONLY reason the lights are still on is that they prey on canadians, etc, etc....
Plus parking is $15.00 a day to add insult to injury....Place was built in 1927, and should have been demolished 20 years ago....but hey,if you arent a believer, drop some cash and "experience" it for yourself......
Stay anywhere else !

I wish I were wrong but my stay here resulted in bedbug bites. I enjoyed the stay and the room was nice. The servers at morning breakfast were so nice.

Unfortunately it takes an average of nine days to see symptoms, I've learned. So there is no way to complain in the morning or anything. I saw blood on my sheet so could have taken it as a clue. But I sometimes get nosebleeds when I sneeze and figured it was a possibility. The good news is that there is nothing particularly horrible or dangerous about it. Itches like a mosquito bite.

Yes, if you read the review of this hotel it is situated on the boardwalk and on the beach,
believe me that is the only good thing about it, sorry second good thing the pool staff are really really nice.
The reception staff is trained to say that the room are recentely renoved ! that is not the case, walls are paper thin, don't get fool !!!!...my room was dirty- carpet had burt marks and found previous occupants hair everywhere, inpossible to see thru the windows.. that room was totaly discusting....never stayed in a hotel with room so dirty. They sell the room as condo, so the full time occupants are very noizy!
They surprise you with $ 10 per day / ($70) for the usage of the gym, towels..ect...also they charge you $ 15.00 dollars a day to park...I've never stayed at a hotel personnaly where you had to pay for parking..NEEDLESS to say " we will never go back to this hotel"

Room Tip: don't go to this hotel

Firstly, with a hire car we found this hotel difficult to locate - we're from UK so maybe it was the road layout! Our room was adequate, rather dated, clean and with OK facilities and bed so comfy - BUT the rest of the place looks like the hotel time forgot! Breakfast OK-ish in the most depressing badly lit out-of-date area ever seen (could look so much better), tables were not cleared / cleaned and is it necessary to have disposable cutlery / plates etc. But main complaint is the public areas are just dirty, there was a clump of dust on steps leading out of back of hotel and it remained there for our 3 night stay! Some of the exit glass doors at back of hotel were broken; the public toilets were the most disgusting / smelly / dirty ever seen. Location was fine, near the beach, but to get through to back of hotel you have to walk through dirty corridors / steps / then exit to the most rundown area of shops - may have been lovely once, but not sure when that was and most of them closed and dirty looking! Corridors were rather smelly , smell of stale cooking etc, seemed to be lots of time share apartments? It is good that the boardwalk and restaurants are nearby - there are no public areas to relax and to visitors from UK it was a big disappointment, looks wonderful in Internet photos, sadly not so once inside !

Room Tip: Say you have been before and were disappointed - maybe this will get you a better room! We had a ki...
