Best place to be in Holliwood with a family, we hade a suite deluxe on the ground floor.

Pre-cruise to soak up the sun for three days and we found the "Best" little beach resort ever via the internet! This little resort is ranked #8 in all of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood FL and it is our opinion, it should be rated #1, spotless very clean rooms. We caught a cab from FLL for $35.00 for two couples to the WalkAbout Beach resort, paid $20.00 more for our Rooms # 1 & 4 with a panaoramic view of the boardwalk and beach, was so worth it. Noree checked us in and then helped us 4 with our luggage, so sweet! Jesseen (sp) worked the Tiki Bar while we were there and we wanted to just keep her and take her home with us to Wyoming! She is the sweetest! Loved visiting with the local who stopped in daily at the Tiki Bar. Sheri in housekeeping, was always in the background, but always making sure we had everything we needed...and what a big welcoming smile we received everytime we encountered one another! Kitchenette offered the makings for coffee w/Coffee maker for our morning brew. We rented Cabanas for $26.00 for the day on the beach, even got to witness a wedding right on the beach! was a treat. Walking the boardwalk, stopping in at Tiki Bars, listening to the music by local musicians, shopping at the little shops/boutiques along the way was very relaxing and very safe! Many people walking, running, biking, skating all hours of the day with police present periodically! Ate at Nick's Bar and Grill two nights...very busy, the seafood was excellent! We will be sharing our discovery of this "little bit of paradise" with our families...5 stars no doubt! Leonard and Renee' ...Allen & Ruth

We went here and it was my new place to go on Hollywood beach. Will never stay anywhere else. Is so charming and such a perfect local and very clean. Thank you! Great people great decor best spot on the beach

First of all, you cannot have a bad room here, as there are only 8 of them and they all face the beach. We had a Queen Studio on main floor, and loved it. We were literally 5 steps from the TiKi bar, which was a riot thanks to our super friendly bartender! We had initally scheduled this trip for May, but I suffered a serious broken leg and had to reschedule. The staff/management were extremely helpful with transferring our dates and deposits, and it was much appreciated

Pros--Tiki Bar--both for local flavor and friendly conversations, proximity to beach, adorable fresh and inviting rooms,people watching, VIEWS!!! Amazing location, steps from the beach.

Cons--the only con could also be a pro, you are located at a very quiet spot on the broadwalk. it is a good mile walk to the bars/restaurants. Normally, I would love the seclusion and enjoy the beautiful stroll along the beach, but my bones are still knitting. :(

Tips--walk down to local restaurants in the morning for awesome breakfast specials. The farther you walk, the cheaper breakfast gets!! We never spent more than five dollars each, and there were many cheaper options to be had. Check out Jakes for the whitefish tacos, super delish, and the owner (Jake) is a wonderfully friendly guy, this spot also has great live music and terrific pina coladas
We will definitely return, as soon as our schedules permit. And we want to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Walkabout, y'all exceeded our expectations!!
