“Great food... poor service.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

Perhaps we were just unlucky, but on three separate occasions we received our food and were then pretty much ignored by the wait staff (different servers on each occasion.) With that in mind, their cuban is one of the best in town. Good enough that we'll go back, but knowing what to expect... although still frustrated when you know your beverage will never be refilled, and knowing it'll be a long wait for the check. Here's to hoping they read the review and make improvements with their service. Cheers!

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

The glowing reviews drew us to the Habana Cafe like a moth to a flame.
The exterior of the restaurant looks enchanting (or interesting) with an ethnic feel about it.
We went mid-evening and it wasn't that busy (no problem there).
We then had to wait to be seated and the table was sticky.
We had to call for attention and then summoned them back to get a drink!
The food was merely OK but I guess it wasn't overpriced.
we expected alot more from Habana, maybe we caught them on a bad night when they were short staffed but we now just drive by and our memories are of this mediocre experience.
Having read other enthusiaistic reviews i can see if all things click into place that it could be great fun but the night we went it wasn't!

“Great Cuban Food, Great Casual Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012 via mobile

If you're on a low-sodium diet, this I probably not the best choice. But for the rest of us, this is a wonderful place for dinner. My wife and I are regulars here; unless there is a big private party, go upstairs, where there's an eclectic collection of art on display, and you can still look out over the dining room and its wall to wall mural.

Food - good Cuban bread, great pork and shrimp dishes, but their chicken palomilla is very good as well, and the black beans are the best we've ever had (unless you are watching your salt intake). Add in the white rice and fried plantains and youve got plenty of food; we've gone to doing appetizer portions of the pork, which is plenty with aside of the black beans. Also, their sangria is good, and it isn't many places where you can get red, white, or sparkling sangria. Their desserts look delicious but I've never had room for them!

If your only experience of Cuban food is the Columbia, you might be disappointed in the salad, which isn't bad but isn't the "1905". But if you'd rather have a low key, tasty dining experience, this is the place to go.
