“DOG FRIENDLY AND CLEAN”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2011

This will never be a five star..., but then it does not proclaim itself as such. Good, clean room...a little dated but perfectly acceptable and a good value. My two tiny dogs and wife seemed to like the accommodations, staff was friendly and breakfast was good for a budget property. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: ask for upper floor

It is hard to believe some of the previous reviews are talking about the same motel. Yes, it is a motel, with entry from an outside door, but that is typical of La Quintas. That does make it a bit noisier as the doors close with quite a loud noise and since the beds are near the window, you are closer to that noise.

The beds are quite comfortable and the furnishings fairly good for such a modest priced motel. The room is decent size, nothing more. There was a desk and chair plus a sitting chair along the wall next to the bathroom. There was a long dresser holding the TV which had plenty of channels and a good quality picture, so there are adequate table surfaces as well as drawers for clothing. Unfortunately there is no refrigerator. The bathroom was fine.

The pool was quite nice, a good size that you can actually swim in. The breakfast area was big enough for the number of guests, but if the motel was full, it would have been crowded. There were biscuits and gravy and make your own waffles every day I was there. There could have been a bit more choice in breakfast pastries, but it was a good breakfast. It would be nice if the breakfast were available past 9am. We had to rush each day to get there before it closed. There's no good reason to have it end so early.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that there were some "rowdy" drinker types hanging around the pool. Unfortunately it seems that low prices attract some guests that are a little less respectful of other guests.

A pleasant midway stop between Tennessee and Miami. I have stayed at this property several times and the staff has always been most accommodating, and you can depend on a clean room. Being able to travel with my dog is definitely a bonus. Definitely the best place to stay in Gainesville.

We stayed here on our way down to take a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. We got in late, and our room was very average with an outside door. Not overly clean and a bit worn.. We stay at alot of La Quintas and this one ranked low. We had a faulty heater and it happened to be a cold night. The thermostat kept clicking and clicking repeatedly. We called the desk and they said it would take a few hours as it was late to get service, and they did not have any other rooms. We had to take the blanket off the other bed to stay warm. They did offer us a free night's stay at that hotel when we complained in the morning, and they were very nice, but since we would not be back again, they credited us some points to our rewards card. Staff was pleasant, but I would say the rooms need work and a remodel.

We only paid 50 for a one night stay while anticipating a cruise. Good room size, excellent beds (the best I have had as far as a hotel goes), linens are so so, bathroom decent but could have been cleaned better (found some body hair), and needs better vacuuming. If you just really want a great nights sleep and can over look small things then you will be fine.

We were visiting our son in Gainesville and needed something close by to where he lives. Our room was ok for the 2 nights we needed. Nothing fancy, no views, etc. ok pool, nice enough breakfast in the lobby but only from 6-9AM so get there early. Free HBO, free parking, friendly staff. I would like to thank "Jack" for printing out our boarding passes since they do not have a business center to do that.

First of all, the photos are very deceiving. It appears that it is an interior hotel, but it is not. All rooms are accessed from the outside, like a motel. When I checked in, I gave them a coupon which gave me 20.00 off & I feel like he put me in an old room that hadn't been cleaned for that reason.
The room was musty, there were long black hairs on the sheets & blankets. Black hair & pubic hair all over the bathroom floor.I put towels down on the floor, so as to not dare touch the nasty floor. When I told the front desk about it, they just apologized but didn't offer to compensate me in any way.
This is the worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed in. I am not a "picky" person, I just expect cleanliness! The exterior of building is old & dirty,
