“Happy 90th Birthday!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2011

I have stayed at this Best Western many times and have always been impressed with the service. This is the first time I have held an event there. It went wAAAy beyond my expectaions. I had to plan the event from Ohio and right from the first phone call everyone was great. The catering department was superb and sales assisted with rooms graciously. The front desk is always so polite and helpful. The room for the event was prepared beautifully and the food was exceptional. I couldn't have aked for anything to be better. Thank you to the staff for making mny Father's 90th birthday party so special!

Staff very accommodating and willing to go out of their way to help. When I arrived my room was upgraded to a suite at the same price as the original reservation because of the amount of out of town guests staying at the hotel for a wedding.
The hotel is located out by itself and there are no restaurants within walking distance but the staff was happy to make calls to the local cab companies or have the jitney drop you off if it was on the way to the airport. They dropped me off at the nail shop!
Breakfast is very good. Great assortment of food and made to order egg omelets. Oh, almost forgot the waffles (You make them yourself).
My family is still taking about how friendly people are in Florida. Everyone was just so nice!

Room Tip: rooms on 3rd floor facing the pool are great.

Lovely hotel for a Best Western. Beautiful well kept grounds and lobby. Friendly staff, spacious clean room and comfortable bed. Even the restaurant food was better than average. Pleasant find in Gainesville.

This is an outstanding Best Western with a great breakfast and plenty of space for everyone to eat. They have a beautiful pool and hot tub area. The rooms are comfortable- not huge but good enough. We ate in the bar and the food was great. Everyone was very friendly. They even had candy and cookies in the lobby. The web was easy to access. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Gainesville and we stay a couple of times a year- our daughter and son-in-law are grad students. It is much better than many of the other options out there- it is a little farther away than most of the others, but it is worth it to me. We would stay again.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the pool area which is very nice and won't bring you any morning sun.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was there for a week to attend a clinic for my health, so I needed a comfortable place to come back to each day after therapy. This worked fine. The room was clean, the bed comfortable enough, the bathroom fine. They have a very nice lobby, and the pool was fine. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was very good. I had no complaints about anything in the hotel. My only concern was driving out of the hotel and turning left onto the main road, 222. There was no traffic light, so it was a little dicey. I got a great rate through the clinic I was going to ($68 a night Sun-Thurs) but if I had stayed Friday night, my same room would have gone up to $230 because of the University of Florida football game.

Room Tip: I don't know about any other rooms but the one I stayed in. I wasn't there on vacation, so I...

The only reason I stayed at this hotel is because my company was holding training classes here and it came with the price of renting the conference room space. I believe the rate my company received was $111.00.

The Lobby area looks great and a little upgraded, but that's where it ends. The carpets throughout the hotel and in my room were FILTHY! Luckily I always carry flip flops to walk around in. I would think twice about going barefoot at this hotell.

As for breakfast, it was the basic continental breakfast and they actually charge you for eggs. They have some guy in a little kitchen area that makes cook to order omlets. I didn't bother to see what the price was because I was immediately disgusted at the fact that they charge you.

My co-worker also stayed at this hotel and she said her sheets smelled sour. When she reported it to the front desk they were kind of non-chalant about it. Her sheets did end up being changed, but there was no empathy or apology from the front desk with regard to the situation.

The pictures on the website makes this look like a great hotel, but they are deceiving. I would rather have a ROOT CANAL than stay at this hotel again. You're better off paying an extra $10-$15 and driving south for two more exits (Archer Road) and staying at the Residence Inn or Homewood Suites.

There are not too many choices in Gainesville, so we stayed here...which is a bit far from the center of town. The staff was very friendly and helpful but our room ended up overlooking the southern side, or the big trash bins. The hotel really needs to be brought into the 21st century: too much frou frou The bedding, furniture and the rugs were not very appealing. They might have been clean, but they were dingy and worn. Everything about the hotel is very dated. The pool area is nice but it was filled with screaming, bratty kids. Probably works out well for the family crowd. There is plenty of parking and near many of the Gainesville attractions. The complimentary breakfast is okay. Free WIFI

Room Tip: make sure your room doesn't overlook the trash area
