“Excellent choice for visiting Gainesville, FL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2010

This B&B is located close to the renovated downtown restaurant/entertainment district, in a neighborhood with live oaks and oodles of charm. The room and private bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were ample and good; cookies throughout the day and wine and cheese at sundown, and the welcoming owner/hosts completed an excellent B&B offering.

Hands down best stay in Gainesville!
I read all of the other T.A. reviews, and am proud to report that this is a definitive 5!
Pat and Tom the owners made us feel right at home, and took every chance they got to make sure our stay was perfect, and perfect was exactly what it was!
Having stayed in gainesville more than 10 times in the last few years, this Bed and Breakfast is easily woth its weight in gold compared to the local hotels...
Pat provided wonderful breakfasts both days there, and even made sure to accomodate my vegetarian guest!
Snacks and wine served at 5 every day, and don't be surprised if there is a fresh batch of home-made oreo truffles, or toll-house cookies when you come back from dinner.
Our room, the southern charm, had an antique bathtub as well as a shower-spa that was honestly nicer than any four-seasons that i frequent...
Easily the nicest place in Gainesville!
Thanks Pat and Tom for a great stay!
-Justin

Luxurious beds and bedding; spotlessly clean rooms and inn with gleaming hardwood floors; location in the heart of Gainesville, in an historic district, easy walk to downtown attractions and restaurants; huge verandah where we read the morning paper or sipped complimentary wine before dinner; well-prepared and beautifully presented, nutritious breakfasts; warm, friendly & professional inn-keepers. We were extremely comfortable staying at the Camellia Rose Inn. It was our favourite accommodation during our whole 3 week Florida road trip.

This was a one-day getaway to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and Pat was as gracious and helpful as she could be. The room was cozy and clean and it was a quiet and peaceful chance for my spouse and I to get "off the merry-go-round." The wine and cheese by the fireplace was a nice tounch, and the breakfast was tasty and filling. We would stay here again!

Before booking our stay at Camellia Rose Inn, we read many of the reviews. It turned out that all of them were accurate, if not understated. This place is truly outstanding and
first-class in every respect. We were amazed at the level of cleanliness and attention to detail. The cleanliness was only outweighed by the hospitality of Pat and Tom. As parents of two University of Florida students, we have stayed in most of the Gainesville area hotels and none compare to this experience.

We chose the Camellia Rose Inn because of the short walk to the Art Festival and Historic District, but we received so much more! Pat and Tom were very gracious and extremely accomodating. The Inn and every guest room was impeccably clean and the decor is beyond beautiful! We highly recommend the Camellia Rose and will return anytime we are in the Gainesville area.

We stayed at this inn for 3 nights. It is a beautiful place, very comfy bed, clean rooms, great service, delicious breakfast served each morning, wine and cheese in the afternoons and baked cookies and a refrige stocked for guests. Every room in the Inn is different and they are very nicely decorated. (Not full of knicknacks that my husband tends to knock over every time he turns around!!) The Innkeepers are so friendly and go out of their way to insure that you have a great stay. Location is great, about 3 blocks from downtown, lots of restaurants to chose from in the downtown area. You can't beat the hospitality here. We stayed at a motel the last time but we will probably always stay here when in Gainesville. Also, she has a great big porch w/ rocking chairs and stuff. Also, when my son came to visit, there was room in the parlor to meet guests or on the porch or in the dining room unlike most motels where all you get is a bed in a cramped room.
