We stayed here for proximity to the beach and to the excellent restaurants within a few blocks. It was a good choice. We asked for and got a room on the beach front. We would have wanted a window that opened so we could hear the ocean without having to open the balcony door. It was cold during our December visit, so opening the door was an invitation to cold winds. Overall, the hotel is on the older side and shows it in various ways. But the staff was friendly and helpful throughout. We quickly realized our room had a refrigerator with a loud buzz. We asked for and got a replacement quickly. We arrived late and were hungry; we were directed to the nearby High Tide Restaurant and had a fine meal. We asked about the oranges available in the lobby and were directed to a nearby local produce market. The hotel has a heated pool, which got a few takers. It has a breakfast brunch that doesn't win awards, but it will do in a pinch. It has a bar that seemed to pack in a locals crowd. And the beach, well, it was great, despite the cold. We found the beds clean and comfortable. Overall the facility was cleaned and well maintained, but it shows its age (don't we all).
