I tried Kinfolk's sliced beef BBQ as recommended by someone.
First of all, the BBQ beans and potato salad were great. However, The meat I got had a faint hint of smoke and wasn't actually "sliced", but cut into small square pieces and some of the pieces of meat were burnt and most were dry. I'd like to give it the benefit of the doubt and try other things on their menu on a second visit, but I'm not even sure about it. I really had high expectations when I went there because of the excellent reviews and now I'm a bit disappointed. I think we're better off BBQing in our backyards.

I grew up eating here on at least a weekly basis, and love knowing my childhood favorite is still alive and kicking. Easily the best barbecue I have ever eaten, except perhaps for this litle shack in the middle of nowhere in Missouri. Kinfolk's is well worth the trip, no matter how far out of the way it might be. It has character, as all truly worthwhile BBQ places do, and the food is simply to die for.

My husband and I live within walking distance of Kinfolk's, and we absolutely love it. The food is delicious and SO reasonably priced. The desserts only cost $2, and are incredible. (If you are a fan of peanut butter pie, you cannot beat their homemade one!) I highly recommend this locals-only place for anyone visiting fort walton beach!
