This restaurant has been receiving excellent reviews so we decided to try it out for our anniversary. We were not disappointed.
We went on a Friday night. Very small crowd. Very attentive waitress....Casey with the voice!

We tried an assortment of items....potato and goat cheese soup, Caesar salad, Mac and Cheese, Grits and cheese, pork tenderloin and sweet tater fries. All were very good and very different! They even brought me samples of wine till I found a good paring with the pork.

I would like to make mention of the little known specials...something for every night they are open:

Closed Monday
Tuesday is 20% off featured entrees.
Wednesday is 1/2 price wine.
Thursday is Senior night 10% discount (60 I think).
Friday and Sat is 1/2 price appetizers or dessert.
Sunday is $16 Jazz brunch

If you order an dinner entree you can add a salad for $1!

Altogether with a 1 glass of wine we spent $43 before the tip.
This was one of THE best priced restaurants we have tried in the area.

Check it out! We will definitely be going back!

“More than a Coffee Shop”

Went to eat dinner here based upon other reviews. As it turns out, this is much more than a coffee shop, serving lunch and a fabulous dinner menu as well. The inside is open and pleasantly decorated, the front consisting of the coffee shop, proceeding to the tables and the kitchen area on the right.

Started out sitting outside, but the mosquitoes were having a feast so we opted to go inside. Our server Ryan was courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. We started off splitting their Soup of the Day - Roasted Tomato and Tuscan vegetable soup. Very tasty with eggplant, squash and chick peas. The only downside (my fault) was that the flavor was similar to my entree side, so I should have ordered their French Onion soup instead. We both went for seafood, me with the Pan seared Grouper and my wife with the Atlantic Salmon. Both fish were cooked just right - about Medium - and tasted great. The grouper came with chick peas, eggplant and a roasted tomato puree; the salmon with an Arugula salad and French fries (regular and sweet potatoes). No room for dessert, unfortunately.

A good beer list is available, and the wine list has a well-rounded selection with several varietals available by the glass.

The bistro also offers a Chef's table! This is a great opportunity for 6-8 guests to try a 4-5 course tasting menu specially prepared by the chef. Wine pairings are also available. Starts at $45 for food only (I think Ryan said wine pairings were $15). A few stipulations: the chef needs a minimum of one weeks' notice in order to special-order the desired items. Also, they need to know if anyone has any food allergies. After that, sit back and enjoy a wonderful feast!

Great food, unrushed service, nice atmosphere in a quiet location near the Brooks Bridge. So, why only four stars?

1. This place is listed as a coffee shop. It is much more than that, but without reading previous reviews it is hard to tell because

2. ...their website doesn't work. The owners have allowed it to lapse so there is no way to peruse their menus or hours of operations. I would not have known about the chefs' table if I hadn't seen it already pre-set as I walked by looking for the bathroom. This is way too nice a place to not have an operating website with pertinent information.

A worthy dining place in Ft Walton Beach!

I cannot believe we've lived here 3 yrs. and I just had the Sunday brunch last week. It was amazing, the best buffet of fine foods and bottomless mimosas in the south! Great little "Sinatra" style band playing in the background - it is the perfect beginning for a relaxing Sunday! I can't wait to go back!

This restaurant in great!! And no it is not a coffee house. Very much a Bistro. The food was amazing! The atmosphere was wonderful. We had fabulous wait staff. Get the crab cakes with lemon sauce, out of this world! The roast chicken was cooked perfectly. Yummy sweet potato fries. Great little kids menu with HUGE portions. Even our pickest eater (the 11 yr old) loved her food. The salad was dressed perfectly. Good prices (especially for the area).

We had two adults and four children. The crab cakes ran $14 and the roast chicken was $12. The kids meals were a little high 6.95 each, but the portions were huge and we took their left overs back for the next night. They even got cookies for dessert included with their meal. Our kids were very happy. I could have eaten about ten crab cakes they were so delicious.

Best place to eat in Fort Walton by far!!!! Go. You'll be glad you did.

I've ate here for lunch a few times with office co-workers. Most seem to like it, the hamburgers get great reviews with my co-workers. I haven't tried the burgers, but the crab cakes and philly steak sandwitch. Both were okay, nothing to write home about. The three times I've been here there's a sewer smell coming from the bathroom/rear entrance area. That may have influenced my taste for the meal.
