We came over by boat from Destin around 6:30 and the service was so slow, we did not leave until after 9:30. My 5 year old daughter's food finally arrived after EVERYONE (all 7 of us) had finished. She ate from everyone's plates during the wait, but we absolutely couldn't believe the arrival times of the entrees - each plate was sent out at different times. I have to say, the food was very good, but certainly not worth the boat ride and long wait for food - and the restaurant was not at all full.

Myself and 6 family members visited Cafe Italia two years ago and definietely put it on our "list of restuarants to go back to next time we are in Ft. Walton". On April 23rd we returned. What a difference a couple of years make. Two of us ordered the same dish that we had previously ordered which was a shrimp and pasta entree that in no way compared to the same entree two years prior. The shrimp were small and tasteless. Three members of our party ordered pizza, which I have to say was very good. Our biggest disappointment came from the response we received from the owner/manager when we pointed out that the mussels that we ordered were served with only 1/2 of them open. We were treated as if we we had no knowledge of shellfish and she suggested that we pry them open and try and eat them. Not a chance. There was no offer of any concession whatsoever. Let's face it...not everyone is cut out for the service industry.

If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere overlooking the water , and enjoy a relaxed paced meal of great food; definetly eat here. Nice Italian Wines. Good food, good service, great time.

Small quiet, quaint place on the water. The food is real, home cooked, Italian. Everything from bread, to dinner: simply delicious.
While the decoration is modest, the food, timing of the food and presentation were outstanding. (I prefer to have time between meal courses.)
So far, this is the best food I've had in the Destin/FWB area. A personal recommendation is the Insalata Salad w/ Caesar dressing (if you like true anchovy based Caesar dressing), Lasagna, and Penne Mennemorti (not sure if spelled it correctly). YUM, can't wait to eat the left overs.
