We were looking forward to our stay here as it was our first time in the FWB area. I knew when booking that the location was not beachfront but on the bay. The hotel website made it look quite nice.
Check-in was a little slow and could have been a bit friendlier but after a long (rewarding) drive around the coast was glad to get in the room which was rear facing overlooking the pool. Here's when our problems started. A good look around the room revealed that the safe did not have a key - back to the desk where they searched in vain for the key with no success. The suggestion? They will swop the safe the next day (?) or we can move the next day. No good! We insisted to move straight away..
Room #2 - just along corridor - safe ok this time but....no safety latch on the door and half-alive, half-squashed roach on floor just outside bathroom.....not acceptable.
Room #3 - this time my wife insisted they act appropriately and they upgraded us to bay view room. This room was all ok. View very nice. However, we had now lost faith in the hotel and decided to check out early (stayed 3 nights instead of planned 5)
The hotel could be ok but is lacking in basic maintenance. One gate to the pool was broken. Instead of being fixed, it just had permanent sign on it saying "use other entrance".
The included breakfast was dire, probably one of the worst we have come across. After first day didn't bother again.
Location is ok, on bay, in old part of FWB. Next door to Red Lobster, not far from Olive Garden, Pizza Hut and Publix supermarket.
Not sure about hotel security. Although rooms had interior corridors, it seemed that the outdoor entrances to the blocks were always open, you didn't need your room key to access....didn't seem that secure.
Would not stay here again!
