“Great location, CLEAN, friendly”

Hampton Inn Ft. Walton Beach

This hotel is directly on the beach. The rooms was clean, as well as the rest of the hotel. The beds were very comfy. Breakfast was good. Despite the fact that the hotel was FULL and everyone seemed to eat at the same time, there was plenty of food and the staff was working hard to keep everything stocked. A good variety, something for everyone. Staff was very friendly. Pool was a little small, but I never felt that it was too crowded. We enjoyed being so close to the beach with direct access. Rooms have fridge and microwave, great for the kids. ONLY issue and it is no big deal was they didn't seem to have a big supply of towels. We took showers each night because we played on the beach pretty late, then again in the morning. They would come to clean the rooms and take the old towels, but didn't bring new ones until the afternoon.

We stayed here for Spring Break 2004. It's a no frills hotel but had what we needed. We had planned to go back this summer, 2006, but had to cancel at the very last minute because of a family illness. They were very gracious about it.

“Not top notch but good location”

Hampton Inn Ft. Walton Beach

We stayed at this hotel over spring break. It was not overrun with the typical spring break crowd which was nice. The location on the beach was fantastic, however the Inn was just an average Inn. I don't have any major complaints but as one review stated, the view does face the alleyway between hotels so your view is of the other hotels/condos. Costwise it is very affordable. I felt crowded with a family of five in a two bed room, but I have been spoiled with condo rentals lately. I think condos are the way to go if you can afford to do that. They were good about giving us extra towels when we needed them and the front desk staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was as expected -- not too grande but not bad either. Something to note for families -- across the street from this location is an "adult-type" club. I cannot remember exactly what it was called, but I do remember it was more than just a bar. Other than that, the location was on a fantastic beach. However, if you plan to go into Destin, be aware that there was construction at the time we went and we often had to wait in traffic between Ft. Walton and Destin so if you plan to visit Destin, do not go during rush hour. The weather was perfect in March. Our children enjoyed the Dolphin Cruise. Seaside was recommended to us as a place to visit. However, just note that this community feels like a private upper class place for people to stay and visitors were not welcome on the beach here. If you like to shop this is a quaint "little" town with "cute" architecture and some expensive shopping. I say little because the houses and shops are cute and little. It's like a miniature town. The look of it is "cute." Streets are not very wide and parking was minimal but it was a cute place to visit just don't plan to visit long.

    • Disliked — I'm spoiled with the room condos allow for people to move around.
    • Tips/Secrets: — Ft. Walton has the best beaches, Destin has the best shopping.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Rooms are very comfortable and come with everything you need. Very clean too. Continental breakfast is well above average. Staff was very polite and met our every need. Beautiful view of the coast only a few foot steps away. We enjoyed watching the dolphins navigate along the shoreline. What a treat! Price runs about $125 a night, but I got the government rate at $90.00. Very enjoyable stay--I highly recommend! I will continue to stay here. Very convenient. Only a few minutes drive to Destin, FL. Stay here and sign up for Hilton Rewards. You'll earn a free night's stay in no time. Enjoy!

Just back from 3 lovely days at the beach! We have stayed here 3 previous times and once again, thoroughly enjoyed the visit. You cannot beat the location and the we could see our feet in the beautiful gulf water when we were up to our necks in water! The staff is very friendly and the housekeepers really hustle. The rooms have been updated and are kept in good order. Requests are accomodated with a smile. Several good restaurants are within walking distance. We enjoyed Pranzo which has delicious Italian food. the hotel offers an ample breakfast buffet. Capacity crowd every night...be sure to make a reservation.
