“Perfect Trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Nothing could be more beautiful than riding along the coast in Florida's Panhandle, especially on a trail that allows you to avoid traffic. Timpoochee Trail winds through many small villages and past beaches and parks. Whether you are looking for a straight ride or a trail with places to stop in scenic communities and parks and beaches, Timpooshee has it all. The path is almost flat, although the winds can make the ride more difficult. We learned to check the wind forecast and plan our rides accordingly. You can park on streets along the route or at State Parks (for a fee), which also provide more riding and beach access.

Wonderful bike trail with the most awesome scenic views. The trail is very long with lots of shops and restaurants along the way.

“Great Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

This is a beautiful arena and camp which nearly closed a few years ago due to lack of funds and maintenance. I am delighted that it was turned around and still exists at all.

“Rent bicycles on 30-A, between Destin and Panama City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2009

If you're in the area between Panama City and Destin, rent a bicycle and spend a few hours or the day exploring the area on and near the “30-A Bike Path.” Also called the Timpoochee Trail, the 20-or-so-miles of paved bike/walking path parallels Scenic Highway 30-A. The bike path meanders through popular beach towns, staying on the beachside of the highway the whole way. It addition to winding through beach communities, you ride/walk along and through marsh lakes, coastal dunes, sand hills, ponds, swamps, and natural scenery with occasional gulf views. Bikers/walkers can pick up the path anywhere along Hwy 30-A.

We rented bikes one evening in August ‘09. The rental shop closed before we got there, but we had prearranged to have 2 bikes waiting for us outside of the store. When we were finished we were instructed to leave the bikes outside, locked to their bike rack. Talk about accommodating! There are plenty of bike rental shops along County Road 30-A. Some advertise they will even deliver a bike to you and pick it up when you're done.

Nearly the entire stretch of 30-A is filled with small towns and an eclectic mix of one-of-a-kind businesses - galleries, craft stores, clothing shops, jewelry shops, restaurants and bars. Probably the most famous community along 30-A is Seaside. Coming upon Seaside was interesting - white and pastel homes and businesses, pedestrian friendly, white sand hills, emerald Gulf waters, and businesses with one thing in common – they were all unique. Seaside was the fictionally perfect town in the Jim Carrey movie, "The Truman Show.” Remember that movie? We wanted to spend more time in Seaside, but the sun was setting fast and we didn't want to be riding bikes in the dark.

There are many state parks along and near 30-A, all of which have more bike and hiking trails. The area between Panama City Beach and Destin has several nicknames - the Emerald Coast, the Forgotten Coast, the Beaches of South Walton, and 30-A. Renting bikes was a wonderful way to spend an evening in the FL Panhandle. Two thumbs up.
