“Sea Dunes #404 is Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Enjoy breathtaking sunset views from this fourth floor 3 bedroom/2 bath condo located DIRECTLY on the beach. We walked the beach every day and thought it was the best beach we had ever seen (and we've seen a lot of beaches!) You'll be lulled to sleep by the waves every night...so soothing!

The condo is sweet! Clean, fresh, decorated with very comfortable furnishings (including a nice desk for your computer) The appliances are spotless and the kitchen is stocked!...flat screen TV/DVDs in EVERY bedroom! There is a nice pantry to store your things. The master has a walk in closet, soaking jetted tub, glass shower enclosure and a water closet. It is very well-appointed and what you would expect to see at a luxury condo. Ample comfortable seating for your whole family and guests. Smart kitchen is very nice to cook/entertain without feeling too cramped. You'll want to invite folks over since it's so nice...Views from every window.

The "Tom Thumb" convenience store is steps away which also has a post office. The "old guys" like to go have coffee there at the few tables in the corner. You won't hear any traffic or be disturbed by the store at all...but you WILL enjoy the proximity when you need something from the store (but don't want to get in the car!)

The parking is underground, very clean and SAFE! The pool is on the OCEAN SIDE so you can enjoy the sun and the sea breezes (unlike other condos where the pool has a view of the parking lot and is in the shade...)

We enjoyed our stay at SEA DUNES #404...we highly recommend this condo at this particular property.

Room Tip: Choose Sea Dunes #404...you will enjoy it!

Sea Dunes is a nice building and these other reviews are accurate. DO NOT RENT UNIT 601. It's a beaten down rental with cheap furnishings and uncomfortable furniture. The TV's in the bedrooms are from the 80's. There is one flat screen in the living area, which is too small for the room and has black spots in the picture screen - no cable box to check programming or secure wireless internet. The carpet in the bedrooms was filthy. There was a leak in the roof and BLACK MOLD growing on the walls in the 3rd bedroom. The condo was just plain gross and smelled like a locker room. It's too bad as this condo could be spectacular if the owner hadn't gone cheap. There are better units at Sea Dunes for less money - stay away from this one!

Room Tip: If you are interested in Okaloosa Island a gulf beachfront condo, check out Sea Dunes Unit 404. It...

We stayed here for 4 nights (09/08/12). Overall we had a very pleasant stay, despite the housekeeping issues that urgently need to be addressed:
PROS:
1. Condo is spacious. Great floor plan
2. First floor location a plus, no elevator is needed
3. Covered parking!
4. Access to pool and beach from the balcony very convenient
5. Beautifully decorated with quality furniture and furnishings. A+
6. Nice flat screen TVs (except for bunkroom, needs upgrade)
7. Excellent balcony furniture that sits high enough for you to see over the railing
8. Well maintained building and grounds. A/C worked great
9. Enjoyed the basket full of reading materials
10. Welcome binder has lots of good info
11. Location next to the Tom Thumb store can't be beat
12. Beach service was included in rental. Attendant friendly and efficient
13. Great view of gorgeous beach
14. Keyless entry with timed code. No driving to separate location for check-in
15. Plenty of cleaning supplies provided as well as a vacuum cleaner and broom/dust pan.
CONS: Housekeeping is definitely an issue. Obvious that none of the floors were swept or mopped prior to our arrival. I swept up as much filth as I could and then sprayed disinfectant. Disgusting way to begin a vacation.
1. Hair all over the bunk bathroom floor and tub
2. Hair all over the hall bathroom floor and tub
3. Throw rugs in hall bathroom and bunk bathroom were filthy. Visible dirt and hairs
4. Several forks/spoons in the kitchen drawers had crusted food on them
5. Black mold in master shower
6. Shower enclosure in master bath was obviously not cleaned. Dirt, smudges, etc.
7. Dirt and hairs in master tub
8. Ceiling fan in bunk room did not work
9. Wi-fi signal is weak, had to re-boot several times
10. Queen bed mattress in master bedroom very hard, uncomfortable
11. Twin bed mattresses also hard, uncomfortable.
12. Pots/pans, etc. in kitchen completely unorganized, hodge podge of old worn out stuff.
Could not find a pot big enough to cook spaghetti for family
13. Need more bowls for cereal, salad, ice cream
14. Need plastic cups/bowls for children
15. The stove top is simply a joke. Foil covered drip pans? Really?
17. Pool toy closet is a wreck, full of sand and dirty throw rugs
18. No privacy on balcony. People have to travel the walk-up directly in front of you to reach
the pool and beach (you give up privacy for quick and convenient access to pool &
beach)
Would've given 4 stars if clean.

We were in 101 and concur with other reviews: nice to be in a smaller condo to avoid the crowds. The pool was a nice addition even if on the small side. Condo well-maintained and allowed us to enjoy a great week. The view and beach access are wonderful. Beach service friendly and helpful. This unit was well-appointed with comfortable furniture and helpfully stocked with all the kitchen utensils and beach toys we needed.

This is our first visit to Okaloosa Island. Sea Dunes is small so no crowds. It is a very well maintained property. Only steps from the beach. All rooms face the ocean. Pool is a little small but is heated and beachside. Our particular unit was very clean and nicely furnished. Owners have really put a lot of thought into meeting needs of guests. We would rent this unit again. Found it through Sunset Beach Rentals. Pros: full-size washer/dryer, keyless entry, beach service, grill area, good value. Cons: small pool.

This is not a hotel or a resort. It is a small building. Only about 24 units. This means no crowds, even at the most busy times of the summer. September and early October are our favorite times to be at FWB. Each unit is individually owned. We have stayed at unit 504 at least half a dozen times. (http://www.vrbo.com/74012.) This is an end unit with spectacular views. The owner is very easy to work with. The pool is a little small, but the beach and the ocean is so wonderful that most people will not mind the small pool. FWB - Okaloosa Island is a lot less crowded than Destin. If you are into lazy rivers, DJ parties at the pool, and stuff like that, then this is not the place for you. "Quiet" and "relaxation" are what you are going to get at Sea Dunes.

Room Tip: Unit 504 (http://www.vrbo.com/74012.) is awesome. Sunsets will blow you away.

We stayed in unit 102 which is on the first floor. Excellent view of the beach from our balcony. Huge living space. Great beach. Could not ask for more. Highly recommended!
