Stayed here in November and I liked it so much I wanted to come back when it was hot out. Return trip was in June and it was fantastic. It's nice to be at a hotel where things are taken care of and the people are pleasant.

Had a room with a direct ocean view straight over the pool on the 11th floor. Never heard a peep from the pool, even with the sliding glass open. Actually got to use the AC on this trip, worked great and not loud. Pool area was great, get out there and you can avoid the little kids for a while (if that's what you're after). Poolside service from Cabana's is fantastic (Christy is the best).

My only criticism would be the service they have some type of relationship with for beach chairs. Those chairs are terrible and for $25 bucks you think they would rake the beach. They should find a better company. Since this does not appear to be a direct affiliation with the hotel though, I can't mark them down.

We stayed for the third year in a row in early June. All the rooms are all actually the same size, we were upgraded to a beachfront suite and although it was appreciated, I would not pay the extra money for it. I have no problem with the gulfview suite. The rooms were clean and the maids did a very good job each day. They make towel animals for the kids, we requested a few more and she was happy to make them for my daughter. The value was great, check their website for some deals. I found if you book 21 day advance to best the best deal. Once you have stayed there you can usually get a past guest discount also. The pool area is very nice and very close to the beach. There is the Cabana bar right at the pool for drinks and a decent lunch menu. My wife and daughter loved the wraps. In past years I thought the service could have been better as far as the servers taking drink orders around the pool area but this year was great as they were around quite frequently. Getting a drink while you are in the pool is never bad service. It is also a smart idea to bring your own,,,not down to the pool, but it takes little effort to go back to the room and make your own to save a few dollars. Everyday they have crafts or ice cream sundae making for the kids which my daughter (8) took part in almost everyone of them. They do it right near the pool and are well supervised. She had a good time with each activity she took part in. The restaurants in the hotel is OK, please keep in mind you are not staying at a 5 star resort so don't expect a Ruths Chris experience. Naples is down the way about 30 minutes. You can get that experience there and expect to pay the prices accordingly. As far as recommending this to friends, we are going back in early August with 3 other couples with children (a group of 16) and we will no doubt have a great time again. Most likely we will never leave the property. Since the families are coming from all over, New York and Texas, they are coming to relax and have a good time which the way this resort is set up should not be a problem.

We stayed here for our 10yr Anniversary and thought that the resort itself was GREAT !!! The staff was great from the time we checked in until the time we left. The suite that we stayed in was very nice and had everything that we could ever need to make our stay a great one. From the room itself to the Gulf view. The one bad experience that we had, although it lasted all weekend, was the fact that they were dredging the bay behind the resort and pumping sand and seagrass into the ocean about 200 feet off of the shore right in front of the resort. Seagrass started washing in on Saturday morning and layed on the beach the whole time we were there and by the time we left (we were there 4 days) the seagrass was around 20" deep, 4-5 feet across and as far as one could see in both directions. I'm not kidding one bit !!!!
We ended up spending the rest of our beach time at Sanibel Island. We had a "bad timing" issue with the weather and the dredging, but I would highly recommend this place and would stay here again in the future. Overall, we had a great time and a memorable 10yr Anniversary !! Thanks to all the folks at Diamondhead for the great time !!!!! Dave & Angie

I rarely can write a review without a complaint. However, Diamondhead earned A++ rating from myself and my husband. This was a great place to spend our honeymoon. At check in, we were greeted by staff who were most eager to help. Check in was a breeze. Our room was very nice. Clean, very comfortable and just like home away from home. I must say, I have never had a more comfortable night of sleep.
My only complaint would have been the coffee maker. I called the front desk at 5am and said the water reservoir looked yucky. Jeremy (at the front desk) said he would have maintenance replace it later in the day when they were in. He made a fresh pot of decaf in the lobby and invited me down to grab a cup. I think that was an excellent solution, despite having to get dressed to go get the coffee.
Housekeeping was consistent and just like clock-work..same time every day. They loaded and unloaded dishwasher, made the bed, fresh towels...she made it all pretty and it smelled freshly cleaned every day when we returned. I felt like we were living the comforts of home, only with a maid!!
We will most definitely stay at this hotel if we return to Ft. Myers.

We stayed at this hotel with our two teenage boys, and are kind of travel novices. None of us had ever stayed in Florida other than with family. The plan was my husband and I would stay in the bedroom and, knowing our sons would not share a bed if it were the last bed on earth, one son would sleep on the couch and the other on the floor with the borrowed sleeping bag. Surprise. The floor was all tile, so the bed had to be shared and brotherly fights ensued. But we lived through it.

We had a fabulous end, beachfront room that curved to the west, so we also got the sunsets. Other than that, the price of the room was spendy for us and I'm not sure it was worth the premium price. The bedroom had a comfy bed but the pillows were terrible and the carpet was dirty. The bathroom was entirely made of plastic except the sink which had big, ugly, dirty looking cracks in it. The sliding door between the bath and bedroom was sticky and annoying. The kitchen was nicely stocked complete with fridge, coffee maker, coffee, microwave, etc. The wireless internet worked on the balcony with just a couple of interruptions in service. The screened balcony was awesome and, when in our room, was where we spent most of our time. It was great being able to sleep listening to the sea.

The beach was right out the door, was beautiful and well groomed. Many activities are available for rent, but be prepared for a big price tag, including lawn chairs and umbrellas. The pool was small and crowded but our kids split their time pretty much equally between there and the gulf. The sun and the views were fabulous on the beach. Make sure you take a morning or evening walk.

The hotel is situated on a busy, trendy street filled with shops and restaurants. Skip eating at either restaurants located in Diamondhead. Service is slow and snippy, food is overpriced and not worth the price. It's great that there's a bar connected to the pool/beach!

The hotel service was fine; we were greeted with enthusiasm and when additional blankets were needed they arrived at our room in moments. When our room was cleaned you could really tell someone was there. Make sure you utilize the separate recycling bag. We didn't see it and got left a "friendly" reminder to use it.

We had a great stay and a great vacation. We weren't disappointed with this room by any means, I'm just not sure it was worth the price. However, we slept well and were very comfortable. I would definately recommend Diamondhead, but I would advise they check around first.
