This hotel is great, I can't understand why some people complain about it. The rooms are clean and spacious and the kitchenette is very handy. We were on the top floor and the views of the gulf were fantastic, Estero Blvd was also visible from the spacious balcony. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance about 1/2 mile.

The restaurant staff were very helpful when we arrived at the hotel very late after a long day travelling, the restaurant had just closed but they were happy to accommodate us. The front desk staff were also very happy to help us with any queries we had especially when we needed to find a doctor just before we left for home.

Shopping outlets are only about 4miles away but I have to say the Miromar Outlets were bigger and better. We also loved Coconut Point for shopping and eating.

We'd love to go back to Ft Myers Beach and would definitely stay at the DiamondHead again.

My wife & I stayed here in the middle of June. My wife never saw the ocean before. We wanted the "Best room in the hotel" I was assured that we would be taken care of. From the moment we arrived to the very last minute of our stay we were pampered by the staff and management. Our view from the 12th floor over looking the gulf was exactly what I was promised. As long as we continue to vacation at Ft Myers Beach we will not stay anywhere else!!!

The DiamondHead Beach Resort is a nice, three-star hotel. The rooms are nothing fancy, but are fine for a short stay. They do have a great screened-in balcony with plenty of furniture. The small kitchenette was useful for the fridge. There are ice machines on every other floor, so we didn't have one on our floor and the one above us was broken. We stayed in a handicapped room, but I am unsure of how someone in a wheelchair would have navigated the bathroom/bedroom very well as it was a bit cramped. The bathroom was nothing fancy, but there was plenty of hot water with Bath and Body Works toiletries. The housekeeping staff was very friendly, but we had to ask them to change the sheets. Also, when we requested an internet cord because the wireless was not working, they made us go to the front desk to pick it up. Also, it appears as if you are able to check out on the TV, but the woman at the front desk says this is "only a tease" and you can't really check out there. The pool was very nice and they do provide towels. Great access to the beach from just ouside the bar. The food and drinks at the bar were very good, but they were a little pricey. They only asked me once if we wanted to see the new suites they had at the vacation club, and when I declined, they did not try to push further, which was very nice. The bell staff was very friedly and helpful, but when we spoke to some people at the front desk for directions to things outside of Ft Myers they weren't as willing to provide directions, and they wanted us to do alternative things closer to the hotel.

  • Liked — The pool and the location, as almost everything in Ft Myers is within walking distance.
  • Disliked — The room was nice, but it seemes as though it could be updated or kept up a bit better. It appeared worn.

We just returned from a week at Diamond Head. The hotel is terrific and the service was incredible - from the bell staff to the front desk to the wait staff and cleaning crew - all were friendly, accomodating and made me feel that I really mattered to them. We took advantage of almost every offering, including the water sports, which were great! The pool atmosphere is relaxing yet fun, and the food at both Cabana's and Chloe's was very good - I was surprised, in fact, at how good it was - you don't often find that in hotel restaurants. Because every room is a suite, it made staying here for a week feel like home. Having traveled extensively for business and pleasure, I am very picky when it comes to hotels, but Diamond Head exceeded my expectations . I would HIGHLY recommend, and plan to return soon (I hope!!)

We arrived to Ft Myers Beach after staying in a very small room at Disney with my wife and 2 kids. We were very happy to find the roomy suite waiting for us with a great view. We took advantage of the pool as did a lot of other people at the resort. The only complaint we had was that housekeeping did not clean our room. It was a mix up as our 17 yr old son did not move the "Do Not Disturb" sign in time like he should of while we were at the pool. I had to go ask for towels which were brought to the room quickly. We definitely will return and for a longer period of time.
