The DiamondHead Beach Resort is a nice, three-star hotel. The rooms are nothing fancy, but are fine for a short stay. They do have a great screened-in balcony with plenty of furniture. The small kitchenette was useful for the fridge. There are ice machines on every other floor, so we didn't have one on our floor and the one above us was broken. We stayed in a handicapped room, but I am unsure of how someone in a wheelchair would have navigated the bathroom/bedroom very well as it was a bit cramped. The bathroom was nothing fancy, but there was plenty of hot water with Bath and Body Works toiletries. The housekeeping staff was very friendly, but we had to ask them to change the sheets. Also, when we requested an internet cord because the wireless was not working, they made us go to the front desk to pick it up. Also, it appears as if you are able to check out on the TV, but the woman at the front desk says this is "only a tease" and you can't really check out there. The pool was very nice and they do provide towels. Great access to the beach from just ouside the bar. The food and drinks at the bar were very good, but they were a little pricey. They only asked me once if we wanted to see the new suites they had at the vacation club, and when I declined, they did not try to push further, which was very nice. The bell staff was very friedly and helpful, but when we spoke to some people at the front desk for directions to things outside of Ft Myers they weren't as willing to provide directions, and they wanted us to do alternative things closer to the hotel.

  • Liked — The pool and the location, as almost everything in Ft Myers is within walking distance.
  • Disliked — The room was nice, but it seemes as though it could be updated or kept up a bit better. It appeared worn.

We just returned from a week at Diamond Head. The hotel is terrific and the service was incredible - from the bell staff to the front desk to the wait staff and cleaning crew - all were friendly, accomodating and made me feel that I really mattered to them. We took advantage of almost every offering, including the water sports, which were great! The pool atmosphere is relaxing yet fun, and the food at both Cabana's and Chloe's was very good - I was surprised, in fact, at how good it was - you don't often find that in hotel restaurants. Because every room is a suite, it made staying here for a week feel like home. Having traveled extensively for business and pleasure, I am very picky when it comes to hotels, but Diamond Head exceeded my expectations . I would HIGHLY recommend, and plan to return soon (I hope!!)

We arrived to Ft Myers Beach after staying in a very small room at Disney with my wife and 2 kids. We were very happy to find the roomy suite waiting for us with a great view. We took advantage of the pool as did a lot of other people at the resort. The only complaint we had was that housekeeping did not clean our room. It was a mix up as our 17 yr old son did not move the "Do Not Disturb" sign in time like he should of while we were at the pool. I had to go ask for towels which were brought to the room quickly. We definitely will return and for a longer period of time.

my wife and my adult children stayed there in july of 07 we had two rooms , our first day there we were waiting for our rooms to be ready and we sat at the bar, and right beside me some guy says what hotel is this, i guess they let anyone into the bar on the beach, it was first come first serve, same with the hotel pool, kids from all over came took up the chaires,we had our rental car hit by one of the locals who go to the bar. i seen kid walking through the parking lot from the bar where the elvators take you up to your rooms and just spit on the ground right in front of the elvator, i seen people who order room service in the morning leave there trays with half eaten food outside ther door to be pick up and not picked up till the next day, the laurnday room smell so bad, when we got home i tried to reach the headquraters twice and report all this and i am still waiting for an answer

Jul 24, 2008
As General Manager of DiamondHead Beach Resort, it is most disappointing to hear these comments from Sullgator in regards to his experience and his family’s experience back in July of 2007 at DiamondHead Beach Resort. The information concerning his experience at the resort was provided to us July 15, 2008. This is the first time that we have heard from Sullgator regarding his experience, and we will take immediate action to ensure that his concerns and issues are resolved to his complete satisfaction.

On behalf of the Management Team here at DiamondHead Beach Resort, we take extreme pride ensuring our guests’ absolute satisfaction while here at the resort. We appreciate the feedback from our guests which allows us to strengthen and better our operations and creates a pleasant and most memorable experience for our guests.

My wife and I stayed at the Diamond Head resort June 14-21. We were both extremely pleased with the entire experience. The rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchenette is really handy. I fell asleep on the screened-in patio 4 nights just listening to the small waves on the beach.
The hotel is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. I would guess about 1/2 mile to the pier.
We can't wait to go back!!!
