“Had a blast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Great location, you can walk to anything. Fun events all day long and in the downtown area every night. Very safe and easy to walk to/from the downtown/pier area via beach or sidewalk on street. Great, friendly service. Good food and bar service poolside. Third visit here and we will be back!

Room Tip: Higher floors have great views and less noise.

“Fall escape”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The accommodations are very nice, a one bedroom condo with a well furnished screened balcony with an excellent view even though we were on the less expensive side. Fort Myers beach was perfect for long walks and lounging. The water was calm but I was surprised that it was brown and not blue-green. This was blamed on dredging by the locals. The service was very good at check in and beach service was excellent for chair rental. Bar service was a bit slow. Drawbacks included hotel construction, a noisy environment due to construction, traffic, and a nearby fire station so there were frequent sirens day and night. Interior condo furnishings could be more comfortable especially the living room love seat. The bed was adequate but nothing special. The kitchen furnishings were good but a couple of wine glasses would have been a nice addition to the basic dishes. We bought and consumed a lot of bottled water as the local water had an odor. The bathroom had an odor also but it had a very nice tub/shower. All in all this beach condo compares equally to other condo rentals we have had in the past, primarily in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Room Tip: Ask about the direction your room faces. Ours faced east and we had strong morning sun. Even though...

“It was ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012 via mobile

View was good, nice deck to sit in the a.m. And have your coffee. The bed was very uncomfortable very saggy should have already been replaced, could not get much rest at night, the a.c. Was noisy when it kicked on or off so that kept us up also. Staff was friendly. Having the bar at the pool, hot tub area was something we liked. Beach/water was close that was a plus. Had breakfast at Chloe's not too bad. The rooms are on the small side. We stayed a week and this our fourth year in fmb. More than likely we will try a different place next year.

“exceptional service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We stayed at Diamondhead Resort on our first trip to Ft. Myers. We are always a bit cautious when making a reservation at a hotel for the first time, and did a lot of research. It was clear, as soon as we arrived that we made the right choice. We were greeted by a very kind bellman, who unpacked the car for us, called the lobby to let them know we had arrived, parked our car, and carried out luggage up to our gorgeous room. Vickie, at the front desk was kind, informative and seemed truly pleased to have us as guests, and not an inconvenience. After settling in, we ventured to Cabanas for lunch. We were greeted as if we were long-time guests.our waitress brought us a newspaper to show us some places we may like to visit. Everyone greets you with a smile and a warm welcome. I have never seen so many people willing to help and make sure you have everything you need. Room was spotless, with a stunning sunset view. The balconies are screened in, assuming to keep bugs out in the summertime. The resort is close to everything you need. We will be back!

Room Tip: Corner suite has a great view and huge balcony. Definitely pay the extra $ to have a gulf view, it...

“Perfect way to celebrate our one year anniversary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012 via mobile

My boyfriend and I are in our late 20s/early 30s and wanted somewhere relaxing to celebrate our one year anniversary, rather than the typical party scene found in Vegas/Miami, and could not have been happier w/The Diamondhead. Cleanliness was our #1 priority and we were not disappointed. The maid service comes 2x a day and are constantly observed to be scrubbing the floors/walls to keep everything clean. They even give you a call every day to see if there's anything else you need before they leave for the day! The beaches, pool, and common areas are also very cleanly. We stayed in a one bedroom king suite on the 8th floor and had a beautiful sunset view each night. The balcony is huge: has a table w/chairs and 2 lounge chairs as well. All of the staff were really friendly. Jay the bellman had really good tips for local sites, as did John, who rents the jet skis. We took a dolphin tour w/John on the jet skis and it was like nothing I've ever experienced: dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, and hammer head sharks within touching distance. The beach at the Diamondhead was also much more enjoyable than the overrated Sanibel Island or Lover's Key, both of which are covered in shell fragments and dead sea creatures. However, we did have fun searching for shells on Lover's Key and would highly recommend that. Personally, I'd skip Sanibel Island, it wasn't worth the $60 cab ride, but if you do go, stop @ Pinocchio's ice cream near the lighthouse. Other food faves included the fries, clam strips, and jerk chicken pineapple quesadillas @ the Diamondhead pool bar, Volcano rolls @ Chuck's, the food/drink @ The Beached Whale, and crab legs @ the Oyster Brewery. The ambiance at Mantanza's was nice, but the food was gross. Overall, we were very pleased...if you're looking for a party nightlife, FMB isn't it, but if you're lookin to relax w/food and drinks on the beach or a nice rooftop, you won't be disappointed!
