“Can't wait for next year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

We were tired of the east coast so we thought of going for a nice quite relaxing vacation on the west coast. We found this hotel packaged with air fair and we were off. We arived at the hotel and were welcomed with smileing happy people, check in was a breeze. Our room had a great ocean view and the few sunsets we seen were perfect! Clean well kept rooms the frig was a great surprise and came in very handy. The food pool side was just right for lunches and very nice and friendly bartenders. You always had a clean fresh beach towel at your ready when you needed it. Staff was always ready to help you out with what ever you needed. If you enjoy water fun the Holiday Water Sports (not effilated with the hotel) is right in front of the hotel Stacy and Jon were the best, I would recommend them for all your water sport and fun needs!

One of our most laid back and relaxing vacations here at Dimond Head!!

I can't wait to go again next year!

Went for a nice relaxing week on the beach and this place was perfect.
Clean room, very pleasant staff and the views are the best on the beach!
Pool area is kept nice and clean and the food served at the poolside bar is excellent.
Can't wait to go back next year!

My husband and I just got back from spending a 5-night stay at Diamond Head Beach Resort and Spa. We received a good price for a premium-beachfront view suite. When we arrived, we were greeted with a friendly greeting. Check in was effortless. We were very pleased with our corner beachfront suite with a beautiful view of the gulf. We had a large terrace with an entrance from the living room and king size bedroom. There were 2 lounge chairs and a small round table with 4 chairs on the terrace. Granite counter bathroom with a good amount of towels. Small but equipped granite topped kitchenette. Plenty of cold air-conditioning. A flat screen tv in living room and bedroom. Right outside the hotel on the beach it was like a water sport playground. You could rent wave runners, go para sailing, and rent one of those giant floating 3-wheeled bikes. I was expecting the gulf water to be more picturesque and clearer. The sand was like fine baby powder. If you did not have beach chairs or an umbrella, they could be rented for $25 a day. The pool was small but adequate for a refreshing dip from the sun. Plenty of chairs around the pool (for free) and you could get as many beach towels as you wanted as long as you signed in and out for them and returned them by a certain time. We had 2 good lunches at Cabana's (poolside). All staff was very helpful and accommodating. Our room was cleaned everyday. I can't really say a bad thing about the resort. Except like one other viewer mentioned, the hallways were dungeonlike. They were thick walled stucco (supposedly hurricane proofed).

Room Tip: We were on a Club Level floor which I understand have the much better rooms. Not really sure how yo...

I always go overboard with these reviews so let me break it up into the good and the bad:
The GOOD:
Staff is very, very friendly and accommodating. We checked in at about 2am and were given a full GULF view room facing the water. Total privacy on out balcony. We were always greeted and it felt genuine.
Free Parking
Room size- separate living room was super nice
Large, screened balcony. LOVED it.
Bed was very comfortable
QUIET environment
Refrigerator in rom was of a nice size.

Now the NOT-SO-GOOD (dont reallly want to say BAD)
Housekeeping missed us 1day.
Food, drinks were just ok.
Pool was rather smallish
Watersports on Beach in front of hotel (NOT DIRECTLY affiliated with the Diamondhead) was significantly higher than most, not all activities were available.
Pool closes a little early for my taste
Small bathroom

I had a great time and would probably take my kids there. Im a little older, morte seasoned traveler and I like a little more luxury and a better food. But on the bright side, there is a slew of restaurant closeby.

For breakfast, try Heavenly Biscuit....two blocks down (further into FMB) Homemade biscuits with Egg, sausage, cheese and fresh tomato...DELISH!!!!

I felt the place was well worth what I spent. Just dont expect ritzy accommodations. Think young folks upscale spring break vacation, families with young children, etc

Room Tip: I had room 807. A Its was on the side that fully faced the gulf. These offer the greatest privacy...

Got a great price we couldn't pass on, the pictures are not representative of the beach sand is gray water is green. Not white sand and blue water as in pictures the beach was the dirtiest around all the other resorts raked the beach, not Diamondhead the sea grass was all over had to rent chairs and umbrella for 25 a day and they placed them first thing in am so really had to walk to get good location if u bought own chairs. Would not rent just the umbrella to us saying it would block others view even though 2 sets of chairs behind us were empty staff was wonderful will not ever go back though as destin is closer cheapier and prettier room was nice and clean sheets do not fit the bed don't k ow how they sale club memberships with the beach looking like it did

We are a young married couple who just returned from staying at this hotel for a week. First impression walking into the lobby was that it was nice and the staff was friendly. PROS: Not too crowded for late July- the room was spacious- the kitchenette was helpful- the pool was relaxing and was the perfect temperature the whole time-there was ample parking for guests- it was in a good location and was near many places to eat-the room cleaning crew was there every day-the gulf-beach views were very nice- the connecting doors to the rooms were actually on the outside on the porches so you couldn't hear others in rooms next to you. The beach was lovely and the low tides left really cool sandbars for you to lay out on. CONS: I was super surprised when I walked out of the elevator to the floor our room was on for the first time....the hallways look like a dungeon(dark and gloomy) ...at first I thought we were on the wrong floor and were walking into a utility room. Be prepared to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas, the hotel does not supply these for you and to rent one umbrella and two chairs for the day ( 9-5) you will pay $25.00. To use the hotels beach towels you had to sign a sheet each day and mark down how many towels you wanted, and you had to return them to the same towel location that day - or past six you have to return them to the front desk...if you dont return them that day you will be charged $15.00 for each towel. The bed was really uncomfortable and the pillows were also very uncomfortable, we did not sleep well. BUT over all- Out of all the hotels you could stay at in Fort Meyers Beach this one is probably the best one you will find, there are not many to choose from.

We just got back from a week long stay at DiamondHead. It was just my husband and I on this trip. At check-in, which we were able to do early - we found they had upgraded our room to the top floor, corner room. Clearly the best in the hotel. . .we had the ocean front view and the bay view from the side. The king size bed was comfortable, with many pillows, the living room, quiet large with a small kitchenette. There was only a microwave to cook with, however, we weren't planning on cooking!! We did take advantage of the dishwasher and mini fridge - - plenty big enough to hold our beverages, cold cuts and yogurts.

The beach is one of the best. . .not crowded like those closer to downtown, yet you still had all the 'toys'. . .jetski's, water bikes, parasailing, etc (all extra $$ of course). We reserved our umbrella for the week and never had a problem with it.

Everyone is super nice and really work to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The only downside was the sales guy on the beach trying to get us to take a tour of the vacation-club. Once we told him we weren't interested he did leave us alone.

Overall this was a very nice hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Try to get room 1209!!! It faces the ocean and is on the corner which allows you to peak around the...
