I've been here once, briefly, about a year ago. It was a business trip with a group of people, so the schedule was very busy and hectic, with little relaxing time. Still, I had noticed how nice the room was, and I did get to enjoy the nice pool (that is salt water treated instead of treated with a huge amount of harsh chemicals that burn the eyes, dry out hair and bleach swimsuits, so thank you for using a friendlier form of water treatment Pointe Estero!). I decided I'd definitely want to come back for an actual vacation, and that's what I finally got to do this stay!
I requested a higher floor, for the view, and was put on floor 7. Mental note to myself; also request south side of the building. My initial stay was on the very top floor, on the south unit, and the view was incredible. The view was still good, but I feel like there is more to see on the south side. I unpacked, and really got a chance to take in everything that the unit actually had; large tv in the living room, washer/dryer in the second bathroom, the second bedroom is locked unless you reserve 2 bedrooms, full dining area with seating for 4 (and a REALLY cool table), full kitchen with all cookware, appliances, and even a little sponge, dish soap, and soap for the dish washer! The bedroom had a very comfy king size bed, with another large tv, iron was in the closet, and the master bath had a Jacuzzi tub the size of my entire bathroom! I could lay out flat in it! Since I was last there, the bathrooms had been redone, as had the pool furniture. Seems they are constantly updating things to keep everything top of the line and very nice! As far as cleanliness, I'm not sure what other people could possibly find wrong. Both of my visits, the rooms were SPOTLESS (and they are BIG rooms, too!). The common areas were also spotless.
Since it was already the afternoon, and I was only staying for a day, and check out was at 10, I decided to enjoy the pool while I could, so I headed down there. The water was warm, and once again, I was able to enjoy a prolonged time there since I wasn't dealing with super harsh chemicals that normally limits my pool use to an hour. Their pool is very unique; both ends are shallow (which is great for families with small kids), and the middle is where it is deep. I really like that structure.
After the pool, I took a nice soak in the Jacuzzi upstairs. After that, I wanted to do something nice for myself so I asked the lady at the front about a place that was nice and upscale, but not too over the top, so she recommended a close dinner restaurant, the Southbeach Grill. It was perfect. White table cloth kind of place, with a great selection of seafood. I ended up ordering the most delicious surf and turf I've ever had! It was perfect!
When I got back to my room, I enjoyed a very nice, quiet night of restful sleep - the bed really is very cozy. In the morning, I woke up a little later than I meant to, so I called the front desk and told me I could check out at 11 instead. I ended up checking out at 10:30, but it was very nice that they did not charge me more. Since I wanted to continue to have fun for the rest of my second vacation day, the lady at the front told me about the Shops at Miromar - an outdoor mall of outlets, and she gave me a little booklet to trade in for coupons over there. The shops were AMAZING! And very grateful for the coupons!
After that, I headed to Naples (the resort is only about 20 minutes away from there), and enjoyed some of the sights there before heading back home to the busy East Coast. I am REALLY glad I got to enjoy my stay, and for next year, I am planning on a week long stay with my daughter joining me. It is very relaxing, and was a pleasure both times. My stays are getting better and better (first business, then a day of relaxation, next time a full blown vacation!).
When I was little, my family use to go to a hotel a few buildings down from Pointe Estero, and I must say, it held NOTHING to this place. The "nicest" hotel I've been to was the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, at the time advertised as the nicest hotel in Puerto Rico. The rooms at Pointe Estero are WORLDS nicer!! I'd recommend this place to anyone! Thank you, Pointe Estero, for providing such an enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere! I can't wait to come back next summer!
If it is possible to get a higher floor room (I'd say sixth floor or higher), that is the best f...
