Well positioned right on the beach at the quieter end where the beach gets very wide. The 2 bedroomed beachfront condo we had was on the 15th floor and was really great with comfortable and stylish furniture. Master bedroom was good size with fantastic large jacuzzi bath in the bathroom and 2nd bedroom was also good with direct access to the second bathroom. Balconies had access from all the rooms with amazing outlook over the beach especially good for the sunsets.
Kitchen was well equipped with all necessary electrical appliances except there was no kettle (essential for the British!)
Front desk staff were very helpful and gave good information on restaurants, golf courses, shopping and much more. Free internet access at all times reception is open and free coffee until 11 a.m every morning in the lobby. A free newspaper was delivered each day to the condo and pleanty of leaflets in the lobby for things to see and do. A few restaurants this end of F.M.Beach but easy to get trolley bus to Times Square which is the centre. We ate at the South Beach Grill and Charley's Boathouse Restaurant both of which were good. Go to Naples and take a boat ride down the river to the Gulf, well worth it. Also try and have an airboat ride on the Everglades near Everglade City (recommend Cap'n Dougs).
Would definitely go back to these Condos.

“Pointe Estero, a great place for a vacation!”

Pointe Estero Resort

My husband and I just returned from a week at Pointe Estero Resort on Ft. Myers Beach. We had a great time. The suites are huge (almost too big for 2 people). The Gulf views and sunsets are spectacular. We were looking for a 'quiet' vacation and received just that. I'm a very light sleeper and don't sleep well in a hotel. Not so at Pointe Estero. The rooms are so quiet you never hear doors slamming, water running or even the sound of the waves unless the sliding doors are open. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. We spent a lot of time by the heated pool and always found lounges available. We've stayed at other Sunstream Resorts in Florida and have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet vacation resort.

We had 2 two-bedroom condos here January 2-6, 2008. Each floor has 4 units (2 beach front and 2 gulf view). We stayed in the Gulf View units (rooms 601 and 603) which had nice views of the beach and water. The unit on the south side of the building seemed to get more sun on the balcony than the one on the north side of the building. Both units were very quiet and private feeling even though there were lots of windows in the unit.

The rooms themselves were large and clean though they aren't new and there are some small things that are showing some wear such as the paint on the kitchen faucet and the finish on the bathtub faucet. We stayed at the Bela Sera in Naples last year and that was newer and more upscale though it wasn't on the beach. The pool area was clean and the pool was large. The hot tub was also nice.

The only negative we experienced was with the internet connection which seemed to work on and off. (The office does have extra ethernet cables if you forget yours.)

The Esterra Spa is not on the property but is located about a 10-minute walk away. The Spa is new and very nice. I had a good massage there.

Within walking distance are some restaurants and two 7-11s, CVS drug store, and Santini Plaza which has several restaurants. We got ice cream at the ice cream place there. We also ate at the Fish House which is directly behind Santini Plaza. We were a group of 7 and everyone enjoyed what they ordered at the Fish House.

General Comments about Ft. Myers Beach: I have been to Sanibel and Naples, but never Ft. Myers Beach. When I had read that most of the restaurants/shops are near the north end I was worried Pointe Estero might be too far. When we drove onto the north of the island near Times Square, we were struck by how tacky everything there was...lots of junky souvenir shops, tattoo parlors, etc. The south end of the island around Pointe Estero is much nicer and more upscale. Even my teenage daughter said, "I'm glad we're not staying on the north end."

I like to hear the sound of the ocean at night and that was one of the reasons why I booked this hotel. Well, it is directly at the beach, but it is a quite large beach. So large that you dont hear the soft waves from the Gulf of Mexico. To note that there is nothing around the hotel, so you need a car to go shopping or to the restaurants (except for the Holiday Inn restaurant in walking disance which we liked). Apart from that, it is absoilutely perfect: very well equipped suites, very well maintained, outmostly friendly and competent staff and the price is ok (USD 205 fror Oceanfront Suite).

Stayed here Nov 28 to Dec 1. Have stayed at other condos on the beach and this condo was by far the best. Very clean apartment. We stayed in the smaller 2 bedroom condos so the living space was a bit smaller but there were only 3 of us and it was plenty big. The master bedroom had a king size bed and the jacuzzi tub in bathroom is biggest I've been in. Was equipped with 3 televisions. The outdoor pool is heated so we could swim even though it was a bit cooler at night and the pool's open until 10 pm. The condo was decorated tastefully. The kitchen was fully equipped, even had corian countertop. The location on the beach is excellent, it's true about being on the widest part of the beach. The layout of the condo was nice with sliders out to the lanai from both bedrooms and the living area. Could see the sunset and beach even from this condo. Looking forward to staying again! Wouldn't go anywhere else on the beach.
