“They made our Honeymoon Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2011

This resort offered everything we needed for our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly and went far and beyond to make each guest feel special. The food was phenominal; we never had a bad meal!! The view and weather could not have been more perfect! Our honeymoon was perfect and amazing thanks to the Pink Shell... every detail was attended to and their motto holds true.... the only thing they overlook is the beach! We loved every minute and can't wait to take our son there when he gets a little older! The place was very family friendly but it wasn't full of innoying kids or teenagers that were on your nerves... there was the perfect amount of space for adults to have a drink and a smoke away from the kids ;)

The Pink Shell location couldn't be better. On the beach, watch the sunset from the beach or room. We had a Studio with a a kitchen. The only issues we had which they tried to correct were the in room safe didn't work indicated it needed a new battery, but that didn't correct it and the freezer in the mini refrigerator didn't keep items frozen (and it's small) they did supply another mini refrigerator, but it wasn't much of an improvement. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A tip is if you plan to leave the Fort Meyers beach coming back you'll have a major traffic problem between 8 AM -6 PM. So plan your day accordingly. I rated the sleep qualitity low because I prefer a firm pillow and theirs were too soft and small

Our trip was fantastic. The resort is beautiful, everyone is friendly and very helpful. We had a favorite though, his name was Bob and he was our bartender at Bongo's. He definitely helped our great trip better. The restaurant was delicious, as was the complimentary breakfast everyday! I would definitely love to come back and would recommend to anyone!

We stayed 5 nights at White Sand Villas. Wonderful 2 bedroom suite. Great, clean beach. Lost of room. Pool always had chairs and beach towels were true breach towels!loved them!! Drinks were great and very good breakfast. Lunch/dinner options were a little limiting, but there were many great places to eat close by. Loved shell hunting at night. Many stiarfish and big sand dollars. Very exciting for me, my husband and the teenagers!! If you go,you must go to the sunset celebration and shell hunting at night. Wristband keys were very nice and handy. Worked great and just left them on. No keys to worry about. I slept so good! Beds were great! Also, loved their bath toiletries. I could have used their soap and shampoo all week! Loved screened in porch! Wish I was still there!!!

Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay at Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa. It appears that you and your family had a wonderful vacation and you truly enjoyed many of the interior amenities and waterside attractions that make our resort spectacular. The shelling, sunsets and pool activities are just a few of the fabulous, simple resort features making Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa a great resort location.
I’m sorry that you were unsatisfied with the food selections in our restaurants. We are roughly a half mile away from Times Square, in which it seems you located. Other beach restaurants are very close offering a number of unique dining experiences for all palates.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Loved the Pink Shell. We stayed in a 2 bedroom White Sand Villa. My husband and I traveled with our 2 children (ages 4 and 1). This was a perfect layout for our family. My husband and I had our own master suite. My son and daughter shared a room. The hotel provided a crib for my 1 year old. The crib was metal and outdated but b/c my daughter had just turned one it was appropriate for her and her size. I don't think with her mobility now at 15 months old, I would have let her sleep in that.

The kitchen was a life saver for a young family. We were able to get groceries and stock our kitchen with everything that our kids would need for the week that we stayed. The hotel had no grill's which was a downer for us. The closest one was the park down the road, and it was charcoal only. For us, dining out every meal is NOT an option with small kids, so a grill would have been nice. My kids LOVED the pools. My 4 year old loved the Octo pool. My 1 year old also enjoyed it b/c it is a walk in type pool, so she was able to sit in very shallow water and splash. The hotel had activities for the kids poolside daily and also ice cream sundaes, which my 4 year old loved! The beach is right there, so that worked great for us too. We even watched a big screen movie at night with popcorn poolside.

The breakfast was wonderful that the hotel offered for us. We got 2 coupons per day to use. They have everything you could want for breakfast. Eggs anyway you like them, omelets, waffle irons for fresh waffles, and tons of other things, including fresh fruit!
Overall, we are all looking forward to the next time we can go!

We had some great experiences at the Pink Shell.
Staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful....no compaints about staff at all.
Room....We stayed in the White Sands building on the 9th floor. It was GREAT. Clean and quiet. We had a one bedroom. It was large, always clean, and surprisingly quiet. we never heard any of our neighbors or any activity down below.
My one negative comment about the room was the uncomfortable bed. The mattress cover did not fit the bed properly and it was not a breathable material.
Beach....Very happy about the location of the resort. The beach was clean, relaxing, not too crowded. Yes, we paid for chairs and umbrella. For us, it was worth it but if it is not feasible for other families, you can bring your own chair without any hassles. The chairs and other beach activities are provided by a third party. We never went to the pool so I won't comment on that.
Food...Here is where the mediocrity comes in. JoJo's just isn't good. We went the first day for lunch. The place was dirty and the food was horrible. We decided not to go back. We also tried the continental breakfast one day....again....not good. There was hardly any other patrons there, it should have been our first clue. The fruit had fruit flys, the bagels/pastries just seemed tired. It seems that most people take advantage of the hot buffet breakfast at Jacks (in the Captiva building). We didn't go so I can't comment.
Don't let JoJo's deter you, there are other places to eat within walking distance.
The Area......I did like that we were in walking distance of the main district. We walked almost everywhere. What I didn't like was that this area appeared to be very Spring Break oriented (not a ding against the hotel by any means). There were A LOT of college age kids. We didn't witness anything unsavory...just that it was crowded with spring breakers. There was a definite police presence that seemed to keep everyone in check.
All in all, I would give Pink Shell a 7 out of 10. If we came back to Fort Myers Beach, we would stay here again.

Thank you for your comments about your recent stay at Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa.

I appreciate your kind statement regarding the resort staff. People enjoy and are motivated from hearing positive feedback. We like to share these comments with our employees to ensure that we are always exceeding the expectations of our guests.

I regret you had an uncomfortable bed; your comment will be passed along to the executive housekeeper to ensure all beds have the proper covers.

JoJo’s At The Beach offers a fantastic menu that we are proud of and we recently added several new menu items as well. I’m sorry you were not pleased with your meal. We do not accept hearing that our guests thought any of our outlets were not clean. Your comments certainly cause us to evaluate our current processes and personnel in that area to ensure that the high cleanliness standards we set are being met for each and every guest. Jack’s continental breakfast gets rave reviews, I’m sorry you missed out on its breakfast buffet.

I am glad you would consider returning to Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa, with the same high expectations that you had for your recent trip, as I believe we can meet and exceed them as we have for the vast majority of our guests.

Overall, a nice family resort with a gorgeous beachfront location. This was our first venture to the FMB area. Our kids (8yo & 4yo) loved the large 'octopool' at the main building and the site is very family-friendly. The beach area is pristine. However, there are a few areas needing improvement: the onsite restaurant (JoJo's, Bongo's) was notably understaffed during our stay and we ended up walking out due to lack of service. Also, our room was not as clean as I would have liked (a dirty dish in the kitchen upon our arrival) and the general pool restroom is unkempt. Moreover, this is a pricey place with added charges for daily housekeeping, nightly fees, etc. Our king bed was uncomfortable. Overall, an average rating....
