“Perfect Ft. Myers Beach B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

This 8 room B&B is the perfect location in Ft. Myers Beach. It's right along the bay. Very relaxing & quiet. A block & 1/2 to the beach. Cafes, bars & stores are right around the corner. The B&B is so very clean. We had a queen studio apt. Perfect! We had a kitchen with a full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishes, pots & pans & utensils. Everything you need. Living room looks out over one of 2 small pools & the bay. Beautiful views. There is a dock with lounge chairs & umbrellas. We were ground level. The breakfast is hard boiled eggs, fruit, bagels, toast, cereal & cookies. They serve great coffee (we are very picky about coffee!) Connie & Axle are the nicest hosts. They offer info on everything you ask. The resort is so well kept. Connie is out always cleaning the driveway & keeping everything pristine. I highly recommend this property. You won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: We had a ground level queen studio apt. Were very happy with it.

We stayed in April while visiting the Ft Myers/Naples area for the first time. Our primary interest was general sight seeing and not a beach trip. We normally left shortly after breakfast and returned late afternoon. The only unit available was the upstairs unit on the back side of the building across the street. The room was very clean and comfortable but the view from the deck was of a warehouse. We had our evening glass of wine across the main area street overlooking the pool and bay - The bay view was our favorite part of the hotel. Breakfast was a true "continental" - complete with hard boiled eggs. It was just right to start the day. The location was very convenient to the main areas of Ft Myers Beach. A really good restaurant - Smokin' Oyster Brewery is just a block away. Don't miss sunset at Bowditch Point park.

My wife and I stayed for a week in April in unit #4. We were originally booked in a unit directly across the street but was given an upgrade in the main building with direct access to the pool and bay view. As mentioned by past reviewers the location is excellent in proximity to Times Square and lounging around in the chairs was very quiet. Our unit was clean but I did have a few issues with the room. The bed was old and very uncomfortable. I think it's safe the say after reading other reviews that many of the beds need replacing as every morning my wife and I woke up with sore backs. The other issue was no closet space to speak of. Our "closet" consisted of area over top the side of the bed in which to hang our clothes. The unit had a table top ironing pad instead of a full sized board which made things a bit tight considering the small amount of table/counter space. We did have access to the washer and dryer but opted to finish our load at a coin-op laundry 10 minutes down the road. My wife mentioned the washer stopping mid cycle.
This is considered a bed and breakfast but we did not partake in the breakfast because of the very light selection. This was only our second experience with a bed and breakfast and after our first in New Orleans where the owner made us breakfast each morning with ingredients from the area I guess we were spoiled. Definition speaking, all the owner has to do is provide some type of breakfast for it to qualify and we just found the selection too light.
Connie was very nice and hospitable and was there to help when asked. The property was well maintained and clean.

We booked a 1 bedroom at this location in advance and when I took the initiative to confirm closer to our arrival was told our reservation had been changed as the property that we were to stay in was no longer leased by Manatee Bay. We were placed in the lower suite of a duplex several houses down the street from the Inn. The home had it's own pool and hot tub as well as deck which was wonderful and right on the canal. The suite needed some updating and we had requested a king bed and were given 2 single beds which were both badly in need of replacing.
When we spoke to Connie about this she told us to sleep on the hide a bed which was a queen. This was not a viable option.
Nice location but took 3/4 hr. to cross the bridge from Ft. Meyers so stayed put for the 3 days we were there.

Room Tip: Make sure you know what room you are getting prior to arrival and also be aware that some of the roo...

My teen daughter and I stayed in room #2 for Spring Break. CONS: When we walked in to the room, it was VERY musty. The room was clean but outdated. The futon style coach was uncomfortable to sleep on. The AC window unit was old and noisy. PROS: The owner, Connie, was extremely friendly and helpful. The pool and deck area were beautiful, clean and nicely landscaped. We spent most of the time outside when at the hotel. The location was absolutely great. Just a block from the restaurants and shops with the beach only another block from that. We would definitely go back provided we were on the upper level.

My best friend recommended Manatee Bay Inn and I couldn't agree more. This is like staying with your favorite relative. Connie, Axel and Valerie were more like friends than innkeepers. While I would love to keep this place all to my self it would be a shame to be so selfish. Intimate, super clean and with so much personality all within 2 blocks of shopping, dining and the beach. Can't wait to go back.

We came back but only for one nite. Connie and Axel keep a perfect getaway! Beautifull, Spotless and comfortable. Beauthiful pool and view over the canal. So close to the beach, shopping and restraunts. Loved it again!
