“Conveniently located, perfect for adults”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We just spent a couple nights at the Inn and really enjoyed it. It's in a secluded area near the beaches, fishing pier, times square, etc. It's on the water (a bay at the end of a canal) that is very relaxing - lots of lounge chairs, 2 pools, well decorated and landscaped. The owners are quite nice, and want to make sure you have an enjoyable time. The breakfast is a basic continental affair

We enjoyed going to the point park, eating at the restaurants, and generally walking around to enjoy the sights. A number of the Lee county Trolley stops (Trollee) are near-by, which made a rental car unnecessary (the length of ft myers beach was 50 cents...

If you want a beach view, this is likely not the best option - of course, you'll pay a lot more. But this was very nice and fit the bill for us very well

Room Tip: second floor is more private. The 'accessible' room has a very small 'full' bed (no...

We found Manatee Bay Inn by booking on Key West Express and using their site for possible hotel accommondations and wow, how happy were we with our visit there! We stayed there two different nights and found Manatee Inn so close to the beach and for walking into town! Our room had everything we needed and was very clean, comfortable and quiet! Sitting on their deck and enjoying coffee in the am was totally peaceful though I was hoping to see a manatee!:) If we visit the area again, we will again stay at the Inn. Connie was very gracious, kind and made us feel like family!

Connie/Axel/Bullet and Val all on top form as always, rooms clean and tidy and contain everything you need. Food and drinks available every morning and the selection changes each visit, new seating and tiki hut roof keep the MBI looking nice. Boat hire with driver is a nice extra if you have the time [good value].

Fantastic location , owners always willing to help and assist with anything I often wonder if the negative coments on trip advisor are staying at the same MBI? they have just won the white glove award again for small B and B.

Chairs, cool box, sun shades all availbe for visitors and two pools, we could simply sit all day and watch the fish, manatee and other wildlife pass through the bay area at the rear of MBI each day.

WELL DONE ALL KEEP UP TEH GOOD WORK, see you all in 2013.

Room Tip: book early it gets full, many people return year after year and book the same rooms, room 1 or 2 if...

This is the type of place where if they "like" your reservation dates, you might be lucky enough to have a room waiting. On the other hand, if they don't approve of your reservation, they will just simply say they didn't receive your reservation. Allow me to explain.....we booked one night through Expedia on 7-4-12 for our anniversary. The reservation was confirmed, even was given a confirmation number by the hotel, and the reservation was paid for in full a couple months prior to arrival. Nothing out of the ordinary. (Keep in mind that hotel owners are in charge of their own availability through outside booking companies such as Expedia. They post their own availability and rates through these companies.) When we arrived, we of course were told they did not have a reservation for us. Because of their own oversight, we were denied an accommodation on our anniversary, and fortunately we were able to book a really nice room at another property directly on the beach. It all turned out well in the end, but I'm writing this to make sure you are all aware of the games this property plays when, due to their own personal booking error, they were really comfortable casting the blame on a company that only sells what the property tells them they can. So, buyer beware! There are alot of great places to stay on Fort Myers Beach, this not being one of them. They totally lack in honesty and integrity.

I recently visited this B&B with my husband for the second time, this time for a reunion with my old college friend and her partner. Other than the larger places with management changing all the time, the Manatee Bay Inn has been in good hands with Connie and Axel, the German owners. Their hospitality is impeccable, you can totally rely on their knowledge of the area to plan your days ahead. We had the upstairs room on the left, number 5 I believe. It has a beautiful view of the bay and the pool, while on the other side you can overlook the parking lot to check on your car. We loved the cozy, quiet atmosphere and proximity to all restaurants, shops and center at Times Square. You can walk literally anywhere, even to the beach! Perfect to go out for drinks at night. You could also have drinks on the deck by the pool at night, too. We used the community grill there for a private BBQ one night and had a great time. The rooms are decent size and have a fully furnished kitchen and patio or balcony.
When in town you should go on a segway tour with Segway Pete. This guy was so much fun! The tour starts by the Yucatan Restaurant right around the corner from the Manatee Bay Inn, and Pete takes you over the bridge so you can spot the hotel from above. I would highly recommend a vacation here whether you go with your partner, family or friends. Thank you Connie and Axel, we are hoping to come back again, one day!

Room Tip: Definitely upstairs for the view!

This hotel is totally over-rated. There are plenty of hotels by the beach that cost less, this hotel is about 2 blocks from the beach. The owners charged me $ 12 extra for each of my 2 kids per day even when I had an “apartment” room with 2 double beds and a sofa bed in the living room. They said hotel rooms were only for 2 guests. Included breakfast was poor and cheap. This hotel is not family friendly; they don’t want family with kids there. When my wife called to make a reservation they recommended her other hotels because we have 2 kids, when we arrived the hotel was almost empty! I made the reservation in Priceline based on good reviews. The 2 “swimming pools” are a joke, you could call it huge Jacuzzis but not a swimming pool. They have a Jacuzzi I couldn’t use because it was disconnected. The rooms are outdated but clean, the beds are small. When it rains it gets flooded. I would strongly recommend looking for other hotels by the beach (be aware Fort Myers beach is nothing special, driving some miles to the north you have Siesta Key with its wonderful beach and sand).
The hotel is very well located with plenty of attractions at walking distance, it is in the Fort Myers Beach “downtown” area.

Room Tip: I wouldn't recommend any, go to other hotel by the beach!

The location is beautiful by the water. The well equipped apartments each have a balcony facing the waterfront. There are sun beds and two small swimming pools on the waterfront. A decent breakfast is served every day. The choice of nearby restaurants is excellent. The Inn is located only a few minutes walk from the beach. We'll be back.

Room Tip: The main building contains the more attractive appartments located on the waterfront. Two apartments...
