“Hard To Leave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

Where do we start...unfortunately, we were only here for a few short days but enjoyed every minute of our stay. For what we were looking to do, the location was prime for us. The rooms are basic but very clean and the view of the bay was fantastic. Excellent pricing on the rooms and and 2 pools were available (Fenced in pool for the kids, because of insurance purposes and another right outside our room). The hospitality from Connie and Axel was more than we ever received elsewhere. Restaurants are walking distance away and Sanibel Island is a short ride down the road. Looking forward to going back someday. Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

I was so excited to stay here on the bay. The back porch is on the water! There are chairs to relax or have breakfast, too. I however was not really impressed with the room, everything is dated. Small shower, cheap complimentary soaps. But it was very clean. There was a list of rules, including quiet hours and 'don't use our pool'. The latter honestly didn't make much since, since the fenced in one was the one you are allowed to use. We didn't swim. I would imagine they don't really intend to be kid friendly, at least judging by the cereal selection of grandpa's favorites. But there was also a hard cantaloupe, so maybe I shouldn't complain? And what probably was most bothersome was that I had to wait a few minutes for two ladies to finish getting their breakfast so that I could get my own. I later found out this family owns the motel (not quite a bed & breakfast in my eyes), & were helping themselves first.

We have been coming here from England twice a year for the last 6 or 7 years - Connie and Axel go out of their way to help you and make your stay enjoyable. The Inn is near to everything and with lots of restaurants within walking distance, it is really relaxing to watch the fish and manatees in the lagoon. The rooms are extremely clean and we think excellent value for money. We go back again in October and it cannot come quick enough.

Room Tip: We like the rooms on the first floor with the balcony overlooking the lagoon.

Friendly, excellant location, clean and tidy what more do you need. Connie was away visiting family, Axle did a fantastic job in her absence, well done mate. Keep the BBQ available we will be back for more fish fun in September.

Room Tip: Any room from 1 through 6 will be fine, 1-4 have better pool access, 5 and 6 better views.

Arrived May 15th for five nights & what a great place! We stayed in room 2 and the pool was right outside our patio door. Great relaxing atmosphere right on the inlet with dolphins, birds, and fish jumping out of the water. There was a continental breakfast each morning but we always opted for a hot breakfast at an area restaurant. It was only a quick six minute walk down to the beach--we timed it! Another plus for us was that it was a one half block walk to our favorie restaurant SOB's. There are several other good restaurants within walking distance so you don't need to drive your car. Thanks to Axel and Connie, our hosts, we wish Bullet a full recovery uesti(their dog). If you have any questions feel free to email us. bafeller

I booked this room last night and requested an early check-in and received a response from the booking agency immediately that they I could not check-in early and that check in is at 2:00 p.m. As if I did not know.

Therefore within 24-hours canceled my reservations, since they could not be accommodating and was still charged $30.00 and reservations are not until 3 months later and therefore they have plenty of time to fill the vacancy. The owner was not willing and I will be speaking with an attorney. Rule of thumb-never stay anywhere that can't be accommodating to you. We will be on vacation and that let me know right away that I did not want to stay somewhere that can't accommodate the customers. THANKS, but no thanks.

A nice small inn with friendly atmosphere. Stayed for 3 nights in April, with husband and a 13 year old. Close to island bridge and main street but no noice as we noticed and from the garden the streets and bridge were not visible, only palms and bushes, nice and relaxing.
Walking distance to small city with restaurants and shops and a huge beach (all within 5 minutes). Modern, light and clean rooms, however, beds were not made the 2nd day. We had a room/small app direct at the pool, felt nice. Free use of pools and sun beds with umbrellas and the grill in the garden. Breakfast with coffe, milk, juice, toast, cereals, fruit, okey. However, ham for the sandwich and egg would have been nice. Guest PC was out of order which was bad as we travelled without lap top and had needs to check up some things.
I would come back and I would recommend it to others.
