“Strange experience”

Loggerheads

Food was okay but when we sat down the man next to us was complaining
that his fish wasn't cooked. My chicken was not done very well either. The thing is we were the only two parties in the whole restaurant??? Food was very overpriced, service was poor, and for the prices on the menu the decor was very cheap. Disappointed.

They have remodeled since we were here in March 2005 (can't figure out how to update my previous review). I didn't think it was too dark before, but it is brighter and warmer feeling now...new colors, new drapes, ets. Prices are average still.

We ate here in early September. It was low season so it wasn't crowded at all. The decrease in patrons might be why they only had one waitor on that night. He did very well with checking on us and keeping our drinks refilled, but it took forever for our food to come. He was very apologetic about this. He was also nice enough to bring out our children's orders (ages 2 and 1) so that they didn't get fussy.

Once our food did arrive, it was very good. Portions were large...the two ladies had enough left over for another full meal, and the two men (big eaters) even felt pleasantly full when they were done. Two of us had crunchy fried grouper and one had fried coconut shrimp, none of it tasted greasy at all.

If you aren't in a hurry this is worth the wait.

It's been a while since we've been but felt obligated to post a review.
We stopped in here looking for a bite to eat as we were traveling around looking to buy some skimboards. It was frying hot outside and blessedly cool inside. We were greeted quickly, and everyone was so friendly. Our server was attentive and helpful. We had our boys with us - preteens - and a manager/bartender(?) walked over and turned the TV on for them. The food was typical, but everyone found something appealing to them.
It was a perfect stop for lunch, and we're happy we found it. We'll be back again.

I tried Loggerheads after seeing it rated as the number 2 restaurant and was disappointed. My wife and I ate there on Sunday April 2. We were seated at a very small table for two that was squeezed in a corner next to a very large party. The restaurant was very dark and we had trouble reading the menu beause of that. My wife ordered a sandwich and the salad bar and was given a plate for the salad bar but no utensils. After advising the waiter he finally gave us utensils and napkins, which should have already been on the table. My wife's sandwich came without the cheese she ordered. I ordered a NY strip steak that was good but nothing special. They don't give you a vegetable selection, you get the vegtable of the day, which usually means I pay for something I don't like. They offer free refills on soda which is good if the waiter ever comes back to the table to ask if you want one. The waiter was very personable but his service was laking and the food only okay nothing special.
