“The perfect spot on the beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

If you are looking for a casual feel, beautiful beach and super friendly staff, you have found the right place. The West Coast of Florida is home plate for me and I was looking for a place to entertain my Europeon guests and this ended up being the perfect spot, after experiencing other hotels up and down the beach of Fort Myers for many years. The rooms are not like you will find at the resorts, but they were clean and accomodating and who spends time in the room, when you are on the beach! Nice lobby, with coffee, soda's and snacks. They provide beach towels and plenty of beach lounges. Convenience stores, restraurants and downtown Fort Myers are just a walk away, so no need for driving once you are planted. We had a beautiful stay and I will be back, again and again.

Last September, 2013. Me and my husband stayed here for the 1st time. Excellent view, excellent room. Staff was friendly.
We used to come to the beach years ago and have stayed in condos up and down the beach, but this was our first visit without children. And this Hotel is above 5 star.. Hoping to come back this year too.. Couldn't have been better...

As a family of 6, it is not easy to find accommodations that don't include us using 2 rooms. Found this hotel off a website-blog (six suitcase travel) that caters to large(er) family travel.
When we stay at the beach, I don't enjoy wearing a wet bathing suit and carrying pool towels/gear through a hotel lobby and elevator. THIS is why I loved this hotel. Only 2 stories high (mostly) and an easy-shoeless walk to the sand.

Perfect location right on the beach; No need to put on shoes. Great stay for those with children - very family friendly. ALL doors face the pool area, which made it super-easy to send the kids up to the room for snacks; they never leave your sight as you sit poolside.

With 4 kids, keeping up with the sand (inside our room) was a challenge, so I would bring a dustpan/broom the next time we stay. There is a Publix close-by, so if you cannot bring your own, just go get one. The staff does clean daily, but silky sand was still everywhere.

Very friendly staff; small enough to still have a family-run business feel.

Definitely walk across the street to HEAVENLY BISCUIT (breakfast shack with the BEST sandwiches ever). Just take it to go and eat poolside at the hotel. And plan on getting ice-cream at ROYAL SCOOP (directly across street) more that once. Both are worth at least TWO visits.

It's an easy walk to Ft. Meyers pier and an easy drive to the Edison museum. The hotel sits on a beach that faces south so the sunset is not directly in front of you.

Our family will definitely go back. It's a no-frills hotel, but that's what I loved about it.

Room Tip: A beach-backyard + sandy feet = sand in rooms. Bring your own dustpan to sweep your room. It will ne...

I would just like to say that this hotel had a huge part in making my first experience of Florida and first vacation an awesome time. It is in an incredible location (on the beach!) and an amazing price with meeting my expectations and beyond. The workers were incredibly friendly and helpful with questions about the area. They even printed out information on local zoos and attractions I was looking for. My boyfriend had first found this hotel a few years back and loved it. We proceeded to book with them the following year and he even got a discount for coming back. I look forward to coming again. Also was in great walking distance of MANY restaurants and shops. Even Publix, the grocery store and gas stations were in a couple minutes of driving distance.

Room Tip: I had a room on the top floor and it was just perfect. Didn't have to worry so much about tracki...

We started our annual Fort Myers Beach vacation 5 years ago. The first year, we stayed at a hotel that was rather pricey and we found that we were only in our room to shower and sleep so why did we need to spend so much? The next year we had booked a room on the internet, but upon arriving, it looked nothing like the pics that we seen on the computer and it was very dirty and way too small for a family of four. We had to find somewhere else and that's when we found The Neptune, by accident really. We will never stay anywhere else again! Perfect view of the ocean on white sand, awesome staff and clean rooms with a kitchenette included. They have 2 pools (the kids loved that) and 2 grills to cookout. We absolutely LOVE it there and we actually just returned from our 5th trip to Fort Myers Beach and the Neptune Inn. Cant wait until next year to return!

Room Tip: we stay in a room with 2 beds, a kitchenette and it also comes with a pull out couch. Its perfect fo...

Wonderful place to stay with family. Rooms are very nice and clean, have a small compact refrigerator but holds a lot of stuff, a microwave above the stove. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and location is within minutes of downtown area. 2 beautiful pools, BBQ grills, all day coffee and tea, and beach towels available for use at not charge. Grounds are beautiful and kept very clean. There is an on-site laundry room with new machines. Mini-Mart across the street as well as an Ice Cream shop. Note: If you log into their website you get a better rate.

Room Tip: We stayed in a privately owned room but on the premise. Owner information was found on VacationRent...

Your experience will depend on what you are looking for. We wanted something right on the beach, that could hold 5 people but not in a giant condo type complex. The Neptune fit the bill. It is close enough for a long walk or short drive to many restuarants and the pier, but far enough away so that the beach in front is not crowded. It is not fancy, and in some places a bit worn, but clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed in the one bedroom suite. The coffee maker only makes two cups at a time, so if you are a big coffee family, bring your own. Pools are clean, and barbecues available. It is a kitchenette, not a kitchen, so if you are looking for a stove, this might not work. We only stayed the weekend, so we ate out mostly. It worked for us. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: There are oceanfront suites that have the best location, but if you get 201, you have a view of the...
