“Would definitely go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

My husband and i had been driving down the west coast staying in different Hotels. We really lucked out when we stayed at the Neptune Inn on march 14, 2013. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room was spotless and the beach is beautiful. They also suppy beach chairs for no extra cost. We would definitely go back.

“Good spot for those not part of the Spring Break crew”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

My husband booked this hotel because it was a bit cheaper than some of the other resorts in Fort Myers Beach. We booked through travelocity, then after we checked in, noticed a $116 fee from them. We thought we'd already paid in full, so we asked about it. t's the 'resort' fee. Hmm...not sure it was very resort -ish, but oh well. Just seemed kind of tricky.

Overall it was a good stay. The traffic was so bad on Estero Blvd that the 1 mile from the bridge to the hotel took about 30 minutes to drive - PAINFUL. But we were able to walk everywhere. The beach is literally off the back of the hotel, so that was nice. Not enough chairs for the beach, mostly because went down early and would save five or six but not use them until late in the afternoon. We had a toddler with us, so it was nice to have a bathtub for baths and a little mini kitchenette and be able to walk to the beach and pools within 30 seconds.

Great restaurant across the street (Chucks), great ice cream across the street (Royal Scoop), great breakfast place across the street (Heavenly biscuit), liquor store across the street and a grocery two blocks down. If you walked not even half a mile towards the time square area, lots more food options.

My biggest peeve with teh place was the house keeping. A couple days we were in our room when they came by (naptime), so you'd think they'd come back (we put in teh sign that said service please) or the next day come earlier, but no. And each time something wasn't cleaned. For example, the first time we had put the towels we didn't want on the floor - like had egg bits all over it from our toddler, but it was folded up and put back in teh bathroom. Ick. So then I started piling dirty towels by the door. Then the next time waste baskets weren't emptied, and we had food and poopy diapers in them. and a few other things like that.

Like other people said, not near the Spring Break crazies, the hotel was pretty well sound proofed, and the shower always warm (though the water pressure was terrible).

“Clean and comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We stayed at Neptune March 9-13, 2013 and were note disappointed. With having 2 children the two heated pools and beach at your doorstep was great. The staff was pleasant and answered any question we had and the property was well maintained. Lastly it is a very easy walk to the pier where the action is but you are far enough away that it is peaceful.

“Clean,affordable and on the beach.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

The Neptune is an older hotel that has been recently renovated. Accomodations are small but the room was clean and a few feet away from the beach. Prices were reasonable. The swimming pools were well maintained. The only downside is that Estero Blvd is the main strip and traffic is bad on Friday and Saturday nights.

“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I stayed here for a long weekend in March over Shrimp Fest (never had heard of it, but its a big deal in these parts!). This was a girls weekend, 5 high school friends (now in our 40's). We loved the fact that the beach was right out the door. The sand is beautiful as well.
We walked to restaurants (traffic is horrible) and strolled the beach. You can walk across the street to grab a bottle of wine, and the groceries for the kitchenette. Conveniences are nearby- yet you are not in the 'spring break party' part of the beach (so its quiet at night).

Only drawback was there was no balcony/patio. We would have enjoyed that for our happy hours. They also need more lawn chairs for the beach.
