After searching thru the internet I finally found this hotel again, a great place to stay, we stayed there in the late 1980's and we loved it, I loved the fact that it is right on the water and very safe for families with children.

A great please to go to disconnect from the outside world. I am looking forward to staying there this summer.

We stayed twice because our condo on Sanibel was Saturday to Saturday. The first stay was just okay, room was very dated 50-60's. Great beach / ocean view two nice pools and the beach is right there. The room the second time was no bigger than the size of the bed tucked into a corner. We were able to get into another room the next day. I would not recommend the Neptune Inn!

My wife and I have stayed at the Neptune Inn in April of 2006 and 2007 and plan to return for another week in April of 2008. We have not been disappointed. The place has always been clean and comfortable. Best of all it's right on the beach, and that's what we come to Fort Myers for. We always look forward to exploring different areas of Fort Myers. There are several sunset cruises to go on, and the Key West Express was a great time. Sanibel is a great place to rent a bicycle or roller blades and spend the whole day exploring.
We didn't spend allot of time in our room, but found it very comfortable when we were there. Our favorite restaurants are Plakas, and Whaho Willies at times square, and Junkanos down the beach. All within walking distance. The Fish Monger is another favorite that is a short drive across the bridge. I just hope they keep rooms available to rent, because this place is a hidden gem.

OK, so we didn't have a plasma tv in our room. But I didn't go there to watch tv or to be online, I went to be on the beach. The room was spacious and clean, the kitchen area had everything necessary and the one time I needed to check email, there was a computer and printer to use in the lobby, no charge. The hotel is right on the beach and restaurants and stores are within walking distance. And best of all, the price was right!
The condo guys did want to talk, but I had no problem avoiding them by telling them I needed to get back to the sunshine.

Next year I will definitely go again and stay longer. We were only there 3 nights (d/t an emergency back home) so we didn't get to visit Sanibel/Captiva, but next time we will.
