“Great property right on the beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

We stayed here for a little less than a week. Room was clean and well appointed with a kitchen and a patio. There was tons of storage. The pools were well kept and staff was very friendly. They also have chairs that you can use on the beach and several grills if you feel like cooking. My only complaint is on the last day we were there, we woke to find 2 large cockroaches dead on the kitchen floor. If we had been staying longer we would have complained but since we were leaving we let it go. All in all a good stay.

Good for families with kids or adults. TWO separate pools (family and adult). Close to publix to purchase supplies. Barbeque available. Shuffleboard, jetski for rental, beach chairs,... almost anything you need. Restaurants are close-by. Check with front desk for coupons. They brew coffee in the morning and have soda (and water) machines. Ice is also available. The resort is small enough that the staff gets to know YOU. They are super nice. We'll be be back, Had a terrific time. Oh and, the beach was excellent! Peaceful section of Ft Myers Beach. Ask about a discount for returning again...

Room Tip: 2nd floor (north side) pool side room had an excellent sunset view!

I have been coming back to this resort for 25+ years now. It is an older hotel but has been refurbished and updated on a regular basis. It is a great place just to get away for a laid back vacation. It is on the quite end of the beach which is just my speed! They now have lounge chairs that they allow on the beach now which is just awesome as I find there is nothing better then sitting next to the surf and reading a book all day. I love Ft. Myers beach for the sand as it is a great beach to exercise on. Walked and ran daily 4+ miles on my last stay. Grocery store is less than a mile away. Sunsets are beautiful! Keep up the good work Sandpiper I will be back soon!

Thoroughly enjoyed my weekend stay here. The property and rooms are wonderfully maintained. Though the hotel itself is of the "old style" it has been upgraded and renovated and is very nice. A perfect place to stay and just sit on the beach.

Amazing Vacatrion and great service, perfect place to stay. My family and friends find the Sandpiper is the perfect beach place to stay. We go at least twice a year. They have a beautiful Resort and very good rates. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They do have water sports and also you can have access to the Pink Shell.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

The sandpiper gulf resort was a great place to spend the week and had a good price for a family on a budget. My family came in to the lobby and the rep at the desk was super nice. One of the neat things is the fact that they do not issue "keys" to the rooms. Instead, they issue RFID bracelets to wear and you just put it against the door and it unlocks!

The pool was clean the beach was great! Before we got there we were not sure if we would need to rent beach furniture... It was provided at no extra charge.

Each room also has a kitchen area where we were able to cut our costs during the stay by buying groceries at Publix (right down the road) Instead of eating out every meal. One thing we found was they there were not enou complimentary grills available during traditional meal hours. I recommend that if you want to use a grill, plan to eat early or late so you do not need to wait in line.

My wife and I really enjoyed getting up early and goin down to get a cup of complimentary coffee and sitting watching the the day begin right there on the beach.

Thank You Sandpiper Gulf Resort for the great time!

They have a beautiful Resort and very reasonable rates. Staff is friendly and helpful. They do have water sports on site. Wave runners parasailing, and dolphin tours. They also have an Adult Pool which is nice if your not traveling with Children.
