“Beautiful resort but ......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

This resort is gorgeous ! Location is gorgeous ! Almost perfect !
Unless you get locked out of your room after hours then you are screwed as no one is at the front desk past 9pm .
In our case one of our party was unable to get in their room with the key card and there was no one to assist them at the front desk . No answering service , no guest services , nadda , nothing !
It wasn't until the fire alarm went off and the fire department came, that someone from the resort showed up to help !
Other than that everything was exquisite !

Room Tip: Bay side rooms have the best view , but all the rooms have a nice view .

Soooo Great, Swaying Palms, sand beach, big free form pool with a water fall & hot tub. Newly re-done a great place to take long walks on beach & great shelling,ac ross the road in LOVERS KEY STATE PARK. We went canoening, and saw dolphins right next to our boat. Breakfest at Flippers is out on the bay, and dolphins swim past every morning. Also saw manettes with its calf. This was our 5th time here, and we will be back.

Room Tip: 706 has a sunset, and view of the pool and dolphin in the ocean.

We just spent a weekend at Lover's Key Resort and will definitely stay there again. We had a nicely furnished 1bedroom condo with fantastic views of the bay. Lover's Key State Park is across the street. We walked directly across from the resort to the beach area on the bay. The Gulf of Mexico is a short stroll from this beach. There is a self pay area at this location. It cost $2.00 per person and there s a boardwalk leading to the beach area. There is a small parking area at this location. The food at Flipper's restaurant, which is adjacent to the resort, is excellent. We had Mediterranean style Calamari and Clam cakes for appetizer's. I thought the wine was a little expensive, however, at $8.00 a glass. A continental breakfast at Flippers is included with your stay. The staff at the resort was very professional, but friendly and very helpful. Definitely request a room ending in a 2 or 3(502,503). The balconies are huge and the views of the bay are great. We saw lots of dolphins, sea birds, and boats from our balcony.

Room Tip: Request a room ending in a 2 or3. They can't guarantee a room but they will try to accommodate y...

I am so glad I found this place!! We had a 1 bedroom condo and we were on the 10th floor and found our stay delightful!
The room was spotless, smelled fresh, the huge balcony was perfect and the kitchenette was wonderful for our weekend stay!!
There is a small restaurant connected to the resort that was nice to have a cocktail and breakfast at.
The pool was heated. There is no beach per se at the resort but a very short walk or drive across the street will put you at Lovers Key State park and some of the best Florida Beaches I have ever seen..... and I am a native!!

Peaceful, relaxing...my only drawback which might bother some is that it is on the very quiet end of Fort Myers beach ( the clean end) with little restaurants but a far drive to Sanibel (45 minutes).
We bought groceries and utilized the little outdoor restaurant and it was perfect for a chill weekend with 2 kids!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sunset view!! Then with a bottle of wine and snack, enjoy the view!!

Mike and I were called by the American Canoe Association to set up and man a booth at this years Calusa Blueways Festival. We weren't scheduled for anything and have been working to promote the ACA in Florida and thought this would be a great event to talk to paddlers.

We stayed at Lovers Key and it was so nice to have an amazing suite to come home to after standing and talking out in the sun all day. The resort is located right outside Lovers Key State Park- the veiws were outstanding. Sunsets from our balcony breathtaking.

The suite was spacious- a king size bed, a living room and kitchen and Mike's favorit - the giant bathtub.
We had a nice breakfast (included) down stairs and waterfront at Flippers. And yes we did see "flipper" and friends swim by everyday.

There is loads to do in the area- art, shopping and playing outdoors.
We loved it and will come back!

We had such a great time here! The resort was in a great location. Everything was very clean. The service was outstanding! The staff truly does go out of their way to make you happy. Flippers restaurant was amazing! Great service, great food and just an overall great experience! We loved having a few drinks overlooking the bay and listening to the live island music after eating some delicious food! We at all of our meals there and each was as great as the last! The best part is that it's right on location! Can't beat it! We'll definitely be back.

We purchased a Living Social special and were placed in a Penthouse Unit 4. The view was wonderful but we had grey, blustery weather thanks to Hurricane Sandy on the west coast. The wind made fishing a no-go and beach walking a sand-blast. The wind didn't bother the dolphins, pelicans, and sea gulls, though, as they fished every morning and evening below us. This morning, a flock of bright pink Roseate Spoonbills suddenly appeared in front of our living room window and coasted towards a mangrove island across the channel. Osprey and vultures routinely soared by at eye level or below. Our room was nicely furnished, clean, and comfortable except for the bed. I don't have a back problem, but I woke up sore both mornings due to a saggy, very worn out mattress. Other than that, the food at Flippers was nicely seasoned and prepared and Lover's Key park across the street offers well maintained and shady hiking trails with lots of old Florida natural beauty. I'd give it a 5 if it weren't for that darn bed. It was calm, quiet, and relaxing--just just what we needed.
