“Nice Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We stayed here for a week Feb 6-13. The location can't be beat for the price. It is in the heart of everything and a very short walk to the beach across the street. We did not rent a car because we did not need one. We were able to walk everywhere from this place. Saved us a lot of money. We took a car service from the airport out to this place for 50 bucks each way. I read all of the reviews of this resort so I did not have high expectations of the place. We rented a 1 bedroom suite. The suite we got overlooked the Tiki bar so we found it noisy at night but, if we closed our bedroom door inside the suite it was not that annoying. Our room had a living area with a pullout coach, fridge, mini stove, microwave, sink and cabinets, table and chairs...all in a very small area. ALso very old TV - which we never watched because we had wondeful weather all week. Small bathroom - outdated but clean. Bedroom had 2 queen beds and a small closet, dresser and TV. This is a very outdated place for sure but it was clean. Our room was always cleaned with fresh linens everyday. Our carpeting was old and dirty. The entire "resort" was always maintained and very clean. The Tiki bar here is very popular with tourists and locals. We liked the Tiki bar very much. Nightly entertainment and happy hour specials. We never used the pools as they were chilly. We chose to hit the beach everyday instead as we had gorgeous weather for Feb. We arrived at the resort around 2 pm and we were checked in quickly and our room was ready! Check out was fast as well. Do not try and use the laundry facilities here - they do not work! The desk gave me my money back but the woman was very rude about it. She told me to unplug all of them and go somewhere else to do my laundry. I would recommend asking for a room by the waterfall pool if you want to avoid the noise of the Tiki bar. Book direct with the hotel and request your room...do not go through a third party as you will for sure get the worst of the rooms available...we heard many complaints about this from others staying there. Overall. I was satisfied with this place as I did not have high expectations. I might try another place next year, but I will pay for more it. The Lighthouse charges very reasonable rates for the location.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the Tiki bar.

Stayed here for ten days this Jan-Feb 2013. The location is terrific. Walking distance to restaurants, boat tours, etc. Just a short walk over the bridge or a long walk on the beach located right across the street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and plenty of towels. Parking is a little tricky but there are plenty of spaces located all around the buildings. two heated pools. One with a waterfall. Tiki bar is nice and food is pretty good. It does get a bit noisy at times but our room was located a good distance away so it didn't bother us other than when they closed at night and everyone was leaving. Unless you're one of the late nighters I would suggest requesting a room away from the bar. The only other complaint was that some days the room wouldn't get cleaned until 4 or 5 as they prioritize the cleaning of rooms to the new people coming in. Understandable but they might need more cleaning staff to expedite that process. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the tiki bar unless you're one of the participants then you can just ro...

This resort brings back fond memories of vacations in N. Miami beaches old motels. Warm friendly atmosphere. Great location, pool, ocean, tiki bar,and many local restaurants. Most important, there's music everywhere. It's my 3rd day in and so far am very pleased. I am renting a kitchenette, 2 double beds with kitchen area. Perfect for my needs, at a reasonable price. Off to the beach. (Chair rentals available) and a constant parade of interesting. Think I may have to book for next Yr.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the ocean

Just wanted to report another good experience at the lighthouse resort in fort myers beach, FL.

This is all about location. This facility is located right across the street from the beach/ pier / shops in downtown fort myers beach, FL (ie. the 'fun end' of the beach). Some of the rooms have balconies, others dont. I wouldnt expect much of a beach view though (Except maybe some of the uppermost rooms might have some).

This hotel also has a fun atmosphere tiki type bar. I personally enjoy that bar. It seems to bring in people from other areas also - not just guests from the lighthouse. I will say that is a good thing because it can make the atmosphere more fun. Ive heard some people recommend selecting a room away from the tiki bar, but the thing is the music in there isnt really all that loud, so you might be ok.

My only complaint is the rooms werent as clean as I would have hoped. Behind the bed / headboard area had lots of hair, etc. However! there werent any bugs or nasties like that which would make me not want to stay there again.

I will definitely be staying there again. Especially with the great price.

This is our first stay on Fort myers beach and we loved it. The Lighthouse resort is very nice (not fancy in the area we are in) and some of the other rooms/suites look to be very elegant from the outside. The pool is nice and right in the center of our area and there is a second pool next to the Tiki bar restaurant.
The Tiki bar restaurant is a lively spot especially on Monday's and Friday's when they have kareokie and the locals come out to strut their stuff. Some of them are pretty good.
The bar tenders are super friendly and attentive and the prices are easy on the pocket.
The tiki bar area is not conducive for the young ones (at night) as the crowd can be noisy and a little over the top.
All in all we are pleased with our stay here as it's very convienent to a number of gift shops, the beach and various dinning options.

2013 was my third trip to the Lighthouse and we are planning to return next year.

The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and the prices are good. The Lighthouse Resort Inn is within walking distance from almost everything including the beach in Ft Myers Beach. Our room had a microwave, full size fridge, and a stove top. We did not cook much because I like to go out a lot.

They have a Tiki Bar with entertainment and food specials every night. There are about 30 flat screen TVs in and outside the bar area. We watched the football playoff game and had a blast. The bar looks like a favorite of the locals.

Our room was on the second floor overlooking the Tiki Bar and pool area so it can be noisy late at night. Ask for a room in the other building if that is a problem.

Parking is tight but we always found a spot. There are literally 25 bars and restaurants within 2 or 3 blocks of this place.

We didn't get into the pool, but we did sit around i and soak up the fun.

I highly recommend this place and plan to stay there in January 2013!

Room Tip: For a quiet room, ask for a room in the detached building Some of the rooms on the 3rd floor have a...

This hotel is not the place that I would recommend to anyone. They have a Tiki bar that plays loud music to midnight then loud radio until 2.00am. I doubt that any room would be able to get to sleep. The rooms are really bad re cleanliness and age. There are well worn carpets and the stove etc is really bad. We booked this hotel based on reviews that we read back in August and could not believe the standard that we got based on those reviews. Went online and read some recent reviews and those got it right at best poor. The service that we got when we booke in was terrible the receptionist seemed to be more interested in clocking off so that she could go to the Tiki bar. Next day when we complained about the noise i was told that i had to take it up with the bar manager?.

Room Tip: be careful.
