“Very Disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

My family and I stayed for three nights in April 2012. Two of the three nights the management had to shut the pool down. They stated they had to put more chemicals in because of the amount of suntan lotion in the pool. They closed the pool in the evening. After spending the day at the beach my children could not swim at the pool. On the third day of our stay at noon I put out the clean room sign for out room to be cleaned. I even mentioned to one of the ladies who cleans the rooms that our room needed to be cleaned. We returned at 6:30pm and no one had cleaned our room. The front desk told us the cleaning staff was still cleaning rooms for arrivals. We stayed on the second floor and called the office after hours number because of a group of loud teenagers by the pool area. The Inn states they have quiet time from 10pm to 8am. However, there is not a front desk attendant overnight. When we called we were told we needed to go down and tell the teenagers to be quiet.

In all, I am very disappointed with our visit. I brought the issues listed above to the attention of the front desk personnel. Each time they gave excuses and didn't act at all like they wanted to correct the issue. I am very disappointed in with our stay at the Inn. We will not be returning!

HHInnkeeper, Front Office Manager at Harbour House at the Inn, responded to this review, April 13, 2012
We are sorry to learn that this stay at Harbour House was not the typically positive one we hear about from our guests. Regrettably, all hotels occasionally experience an event or series of events that are simply out of their control and may result in guests having a less-than-positive experience. This particular guest has stayed with us in the past and was pleased enough to return again. However, after a particularly busy spring break season with many large families visiting for weeks straight, a leaking valve and a buildup of sunscreen caused the pool to appear cloudy. The pool company needed to apply two extra doses of chemicals to restore the water to its usual pristine condition. Because guests couldn't enter the water for 12 hours after the chemicals were added, we decided to keep the pool open during the extreme heat of the day and close it a few hours early in the evening - at 6 p.m. Given the very strict laws governing public pools, this was the very best we could do.
Housekeeping services rooms every three or four days. Upon check-in, guests are given an information package explaining this. Even when not being serviced, guests may exchange towels or replenish anything they are running low on at any time at the front desk, or place garbage for pickup outside their suites in the morning. As this guest was only staying a total of three nights, his room was not placed on housekeeping's service list.
Harbour House at the Inn prides itself in being one of the quieter hotels on the island and, for this reason, will not allow people under the age of 25 to check in without their parents. On rare occasions, we do encounter problems with parents who allow their teens to cause a disruption on the property after clearly posted quiet hours. We are exploring ways to remedy this problem while remaining family friendly, but have found that people usually respond very well to being politely asked to limit the noise. It was suggested to this guest that he inform the teens that he would have to call management if they didn't keep it down - and he was aked to call management back immediately if that did not work. He did not call back.
When this guest complained at the desk the next day, an employee was asked to remain on property all the following night to see that there were no further noise problems. At check-out, the guest acknowledged that this had solved the problem.
Nonetheless, we find all feedback very useful and deeply regret negative guest experiences, whether they are in our control or not.

Excellent location, few minutes walk to Time Square.
Clean rooms, not large but very new and with fully equipped kitchen.
Nice pool with jacuzzi.
Stayed few days with family and two children, great time.
There is a also a "community room" to meet with other guests and have a morning coffee.

Wasn't sure when I looked online but decided to give it a try. What we found was well worth it. Right in the middle of everything, yet secluded on its own time. The designers of this resort did an awesome job with colors and layout, not the usual beige you have seen them all before. The second story pool, hot tub, lounge area, grill, and community room were awesome. No beach view, but only a couple of blocks to the beach by times square. Very clean, quiet, and excellent staff, even making cookies in the late afternoon. Will definitely stay here again.

We were in the Ft Myers area for a long weekend. Spent a few days with friends and then two nights at Harbour House at the Inn. The property was fantastic. Clean, excellent beachy decor and great pool. You do need to keep in mind that this is a condo property so housekeeping doesn't change sheets and towells daily. Some folks might not like the proximity to the bridge but it didn't bother us. The property couldn't be any more convenient to the shops, pier and restraunts. If you do drive south to Lovers Key, plan on a slow ride back at the north end of the island. If we had the money we would buy one of the units.

I saw this under construction back in spring 2009 and endeavored to stay there next March (I always come to FMB in mid March). Luckily for me it opened on Jan. 10, 2010 and I enjoyed a March stay in a clean spacious room. I also stayed the following March. The staff is very accomodating and pleasant. It is a short walk to Times Square and the beach. I especially like the "community room" in the morning where I can get a copy of the Ft. Myers News-Press, enjoy some coffee, and socialize with the other guests. On that same level is a pool and jacuzzi. I even sent my brother and his "friend" here too. They both were most pleased. All the rooms have a full kitchen which allowed me to save on food as I bought provisions at Publix. Skip cooking a few times and enjoy a great breakfast at the Baywalk Cafe downstairs too! It's excellent! I cant think of any negatives except that this year they were booked early for my stay and I had to choose elsewhere. Maybe I will stop by the community room even so for that coffee and comraderie and then pop down to Baywalk Cafe for breakfast!

Room Tip: I stayed on the east side and the north side and cant detect a difference in noise issues.

We stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of January. It is definitely the nicest hotel in the area. The location could not have been better. The rooms were clean and modern. It was also very quiet. We didn't hear any noise coming from the corridor outside our room either at night or in the morning. The only noise was from one of the bars which was across the street but the music stopped at about 9:30 p.m. The only noise we heard were the loud party goers as they walked along the street. The building was very well taken care of. It was always being cleaned. Early one morning as we sat around the pool, one of the workers arrived and cleaned all of the lounge chairs. I was very impressed.

My only complaints are that there were no newspapers available in the community room by the time we arrived there at 9:00 in the morning. The milk in the fridge available for the coffee had expired and there was no stir sticks available to stir the coffee.

I would have liked to have been supplied with more towels in our room. When we arrived, we found only two bath towels and ONE wash cloth for two people. We were supplied with additional towels when I asked for them.

The mattress was too soft.

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a larger balcony and with a view of the bay.

This very cute all-suite hotel is in the heart of the "downtown" entertainment district. It's an easy walk to several bars and restaurants located near the waterway. However, when the restaurant across the street has a live band, it can be pretty loud in the rooms. My room was the cery closest to that side, so it may not as loud further away. Luckily the music did not go past 11 pm. The staff was very friendly and helpful to requests. However, the biggest disappontment was the jacuzzi spa. It was malfunctioning the whole week we were there and never got below 110 degrees, making it impossible to use. The staff did attempt to have it repaired towards the end of the stay, but it seemed that the staff did not talk to each other, and each day would have to start over looking for a solution. The pool, although not large and only three-feet deep was adequate for the very young and those who just wanted to cool off, but not great for bigger kids. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable with nice appliances. Although no on the beach, would stay here again.
