“A great way to spend a few days in Ft. Myers”
We had a group of 5 go for a day-trip and we were not disappointed. We used the "pay-to-park" machine and bought a full-day parking pass for $5. We started at the info center and got the lay of the land from the very friendly staff. The restrooms were clean and the little gift shop was nicely done.
We took the nature walk along boardwalk-path. It wound through the trees and ponds of the preserve. We saw Herons, Ibises, turtles, and two baby alligators! We were hoping to see some river otters - especially at "otter pond", but no such luck. The walk was very nice. The boardwalk style decking made it easy and level. We spoke to a group of elderly people who said it was very easy for them to get around too. You stay clean - there's no walking through mud or dirt paths, and you get a great view of the wildlife. We got some great photos!
I would definitely recommend it to others (and have already), and I will go back again.
